Over/under on Floyd taking that spot?

Floyd will finish the year of that list

I know Wilson is usually in good position and he gets a lot of tackles but nothing about him has ever jumped out at me. Like you knew Ogletree was special when you watched him play. I don't get that same feeling with Ramik. Solid player for sure but I'm not sure I understand all the preseason love. Maybe they see something I don't. Hope so...

Ramik is an ILB with an OLB motor and mentality.
He was 3rd in conference for sacks and tackles for a loss by linebackers.
Those stats would typically be reserved for OLBs.
In Pruitt's system, sending 4 on the snap will be less than the norm. That means more opportunities for the entire team to make plays. But Ramik has established himself as a guy who can finish plays when his number is called. He should have a big year.

I kinda hope wilsons individual stats suck a little this year so he sticks around another year.

Marshall Morgan is the best kicker in the country.

He got screwed out of not being a final for the Groza last year. He was lights out.

I think we are overlooked when it comes to how fortunate we've been with kickers. Everyone talks about (and rightly so) the success we've had with Richt and QBs. And that reputation speaks for itself.
But we've also had Bennett, Coutu, Walsh, and Morgan at K. The first 3 I believe have set some kind of record at some point during their tenure. Morgan still has time to do damage. In the last 13 years of the richt era, we've only had 1 real dud at the position, and he was benched after that season in favor of an underclassman.

He was on the field more than probably every other linebacker in the SEC except maybe Herrera. Of course he's got stats.
He's smart, in position a lot and makes good tackles. If he had to chase someone down...well he's not catching anyone.

Loved Morgan last year. Everybody was like Walsh who after thinking we was screwed in the kicker department. Guy was the special teams.

Those are the stats that matter.
Those are the stats that get guys paid.
And they are the stats that have him ranked so high on everyone's radar.
Wilson is a finisher. He cleans up plays. If you call his number on a blitz, he'll find the qb or rb and smother him.
If it is under 15 yards from the line of scrimmage, both Wilson and Herrera are plenty fast enough to chase guys down (As are plenty of guys their size or larger).
If it is way downfield that they are behind someone, no shite. They are inside linebackers.

Gurley said this spring that ramik was the one linebacker you cant get away from, in his own words.
Eta "you can never get away from that boy ramik"
