Alabama announced on Wednesday that it will play Western Kentucky in Bryant-Denny Stadium as a non-conference opponent in 2016. The game will take place on September 16.

It will be the third time the two programs will meet, with all three contests coming since 2008. The Crimson Tide won the first two meetings by a combined score of 76-7.

Alabama is already slated to open the 2016 season against Wisconsin in the Cowboys Classic at AT&T Cowboys Stadium.

I guess the USM deal fell through.

I dont give a shite if we play teams like WKU. SEC gauntlett + 1 strong ooc is good enough for me.

I would rather lose a game or two a year than play these cupcakes.

SEC gauntlett

questionable some years.

unless it's an Ohio St, FSU, OU, Texas, Oregon, Stanford etc...its also questionable. See Michigan, VT, etc

TBH I'd rather we play 2 decent teams (Utah St, Southern Miss, Virginia, Cal, Arizona St etc) 1 Big name team, not necessarily lighting the world on fire (Baylor, michigan, msu, unc, Ok St, UCLA) and one cupcake (Wake forest, duke, minnesota, purdue, uconn)

Won't ever happen because it's all about money and Bama won't make return trips to any of these places so they aren't going to be interested in coming.

A game I might actually be able to afford to attend

VT has been better than most of the teams you listed in the last decade, and UM was coming off of a Sugar Bowl victory when we played them.

Our SEC schedule has been shite the last few years. We've only played a max of 2-3 good teams a year.

So should we move conferences?

Im not sure why everyone is so shocked. We play teams like this literally every year. Every big football school does.

Yes, and 80% of our schedule sucks every year. frick, let's be trailblazers and play 4 BCS schools as our OOC opponents.I'll even be ok with making 2 of them road games. I'm so fricking sick of cupcakes, even some of those in our own conference.

Thats the narrative that the SEC rant feeds us, yes.

Might as well get used to it.

Please, look at who we've been playing. Auburn has been alternating between good and shite. Both Mississippi schools are shite. We played Mizzou when they sucked. UT has been shite. We haven't played USC since 2010 and UGA since 08. We played UF when they sucked. Throw in UK, Vandy, and Arkansas and our schedule for the past few years has been a cakewalk until November. It's time we spoke up and demand better OOC games.

ETA: The only good teams we've been playing in conference are LSU, aTm, and occasionally Auburn.

No one ever complained about an easy schedule when Mike Shula was coaching. We basically play the same teams.

Like I said, should we move conferences? Or take a chance on 3 other BCS teams that could potentially be even shittier than the teams you listed? At the end of the day it doesnt really matter.

Those 3 BCS teams will most likely still be better than teams like southern miss, GSU, etc.
