Any one know what freshmen are coming in next year?
I know we lose Jackie Traina and Kaila Hunt and some role players, but we return a bulk of players who hit home runs in the WCWS and Sydney LitteJohn did very well against the Gators so I think she's the heir apparent. Most importantly, we return Haylie McCleney.
Obviously I'm assuming Murph doesn't try to run off somewhere... (seriously Bill Battle, keep him under watch for at least 2 weeks).

Seniors will be sorely missed. Molly will not be easily replaceable behind the plate. Murphy will always get quality softball players. High school softball in Alabama is taken seriously now. We need to get more black american girls into playing softball though.

why black girls? SB and BB are sports that you have to devote to at an early age due to the hand eye coordination that involves hitting the ball. In my community most of the black kids are being raised by a single mom or by a single grand mom. They just do not have the resources to start kids out at that young age. Those kids are hooking up with a few kids and shooting hoops at the rec or tossing a football around. Also a lot of the great SB and BB players are doing travel ball and a single mom of limited means does not have the resources to pay for that.

Why not more Puerto Rican girls? Or Dominicans?

This thread is embarassing.

Getting back on track.
once again, anyone know anything about the class coming in next year. We know football is full of five and four stars and gymnastics is once again bringing in girls who've been on the U.S. national team.... but what about softball?

Here you go pal. Probably the best site for softball recruiting. LINK
But to answer your question...We haven't gotten the top 10 recruits but we usually try to get at least 1 top 20 player from out West or Florida...this year no different.
And although we haven't signed but 3 players it's highlighted by Alexis Osorio a dominate power pitcher from Riverside, CA. She will definitely put pressure on the pitchers that's already on the roster. The other 2 signees is top 30 recruit and catcher Carrigan Fain from Gardendale, AL. Demi Turner from Huntsville Texas is rated a bit lower at #82 but is a speedy power hitter and has batted over .600 in her junior year.
