For any of you traveling west this weekend here are some pointers:

Restaurants:

Upscale

Charlie G's- Steak and Seafood, think my parents ate next to Kevin Costner here once so you know it's legit. This is near our mall, kind of a pain in the arse to get to, but legit.

Cafe Vermillionville- Really cool setting & atmosphere, and some of the best food in Lafayette. Not too far from the stadium and near a lot of hotels.

Pamplona- Spanish Tapas, this is downtown and people rave about this place as it has good food and from what I hear some real legit bartenders.

Plate Lunch/Casual

T-Coon's- All your regular Cajun dishes, hard to go wrong with ordering anything here. T-Coon's is the kind of place you need to take a one or two hour breather after eating but it's very worth it.

Johnson's Boucaniere- Located on the back end of downtown, this place has BBQ, tons of smoked meats, and plenty of cajun food. Try their boudin or sausage sauce piqaunte.

Old Tyme Grocery- best seafood po boys in the state of Louisiana, hands down. And that includes New Orleans. Old Tyme is right across from campus and less than 5 minutes from the baseball stadium.

Tsunami & Agave Grill (both downtown)- The former serves sushi and the latter Mexican, the food at both places is okay-good but these places are ideal for late eating & drinking then stumbling out to bar hop downtown. The scenery at both places is top notch. Either of these two are great if you're traveling with a SO or you want to check out the Lafayette talent.

Bars:

Jefferson St. Pub- downtown, age ranges here are 19-23 or so. This is one of the nicer college bars you'll see, and does a good job of keeping out freshman & non-college trash. Local LSU and UL girls love this place, so you probably will too.

Marley's Downtown- age ranges 18-45, yes that is correct. On any given night the crowd can range from college to biker to who the frick knows. Generally on Fridays & Saturdays it's college. This place is ideal to blast some heaters and get shite faced on the patio. The bar behind it, Legends, has the patio next to it, though it kinda sucks.

Tap Room- ages 21-45, this is a place to hit on older girls and avoid freshman/idiots. Pretty nice bar. Only bad thing is it's in River Ranch which isn't downtown. Adam Demamp was getting weird here a month ago which is cool.

Corner Bar- see above, although younger people go here, and it's a good bit closer to the stadium/campus/downtown.

City Bar- Downtown, lots of idiots, but also lots of hot trashy coonass girls. People from the smaller towns around Lafayette love this place, which kind of sucks but some of the hottest girls in the south come from these little towns. probably one of your best bets for a one night thing.

avoid-

Nitetown
The Office
Green Room

Drunk Food-

Zeus Greek Food- great at the time, sometimes not so much in the morning.

Frankie's Burgers- self explanatory

Hot Food express- fried rice and chicken tenders

Follow this and you're bound to have a solid time.

with it being a SSM super, I'd love to go on Sunday and to the possible Monday game.

No way in hell I drive that far not knowing if I have a ticket or not.

Kind of have a hankering for getting drunk, watching baseball, and banging some ugg-os.

I really doubt tickets will be all that expensive, last night they could be had for $25-50

Not worried about the price. I'm OT middle-class. I'm referring to actually finding tickets. someone told me last night that ULL will only give us something like 400 tickets.

They're very underrated.

The trick is to find that certain one that still has a fun body on her but looks like God assembled her face with what was left in the lost and found bin.

Sometimes they'll even pay for dinner.
