I started to create a Wes Rea thread about a week ago but I didn't, and I should have. I guess this is the "cool" thing to do, to shite on Wes Rea, but it's pretty fricking stupid.
Was the guys numbers down from last year? frick yes.
How about lets look at some of the other players that constantly shite the bed this year that could have been major fricking contributors...
How about Alex fricking Detz? I didn't see anyone posting, "oh no, it's Alex Detz with RISP". frick Alex Detz, he's a short piece of shite that can't hit the ball ever, much less when it matters. What happened to the Detz that played last year and hit .350 for the majority of the year?
How about Matthew Britton? Yeah his defense is good, but so is Rea's. Britton has never hit worth a shite. Sure we had some conversations about it early in the year but eventually we just accepted the fact he was out there for defense.
What about Vickerson, Armstrong, or Henderson? They all three sucked for the vast majority of the season. I think Vickerson has a great chance to be a lot better next year but the other two underperformed and their careers are over.
Wes deserves to be ridiculed a little but lets not leave out some other guys that held us back too.

Hey, I hope he works his arse off in the offseason and comes back and does well. I don't really get mad at guys like Henderson, Armstrong, Sam Frost...etc. They are just playing to their max I think and are not great players.
Rea is more frustrating because I think he could be a lot better.

True, true. Again, very good point. I guess I assumed most were just piling on because it was just an easy scapegoat.
Henderson though, man I remember when he came out of Waynesboro. He was one of the best baseball recruits I can remember. Also, wasn't he supposed to play SS, but got moved to the outfield because he was fast and we had good SS at the time?

I'm not sure I agree with that notion. I think we will be much better next year if our young guys are the studs that the experts make them out to be.

CT was probably our best hitter this year behind Pirtle...
