Saw TG bring this up on twitter today...

Thomas Goldkamp ?@Goldkamp247 1h

Look at amount of great QBs Florida faced last year: Jameis Winston, Aaron Murray, Connor Shaw, Zach Mettenberger, Stephen Morris (lol).

This year? Jameis Winston, Maty Mauk (?), Dylan Thompson (?)...

If it's a quarterback's game, Florida has to feel good about 2014.

With a stout defense, and no where for the offense to go but up this season, just another reason to believe that UF will be better record wise.

At minimum, I expect 8 wins from this team, and frankly I don't think I'm crazy in thinking that an SEC East title is possible.

It's totally possible if UF stays healthy on the OL and actually scores some points on offense, because the defense should be pretty strong again.

Eta: but I definitely agree with the point he is making.

I would expect them to have a better record even if they were facing better QBs, simply due to being healthier.

I agree. Some of those QB's he listed weren't "elite", but I agree that UF will be better next year record wise. Not necessarily just because of the competition we play, but more so the health of the team.

Give Saban a third string qb with no snap experience, a depleted defense AND offense and see what he can do.
I honestly think we can go to Denny-Bryant and kick their azz this year. Im not scared of anyone on our schedule.

Its not the other teams that I'm afraid of.

It's the gators that scare me. Who shows up, the 2012 team or the 2013 "team".

Come on the answer is obvious...2013 Gators suffered a horrendous litany of injuries...the stat I saw in Athlons was telling: only six starters out of eleven finished the year. e had OL go down early and often and of course hgard to win 2nd & third string QBs with no experience.

2013 is over. Preseason rankings are scared to put us as potential top ten...why? Because they look at last year...good! We want to be in the cut waiting for our prey.

Im speaking from more of a psychological perspective. That 2013 squad was broken.
