I pose this question because one of Bianco's former assistant has an incredible program at Louisville. As a UK fan, we will never match it as long as Hendo is at the helm. McDonald is on the verge of sending the Cards to his 3rd CWS (let's be honest, UL is going to roll in the Super at home....and Bianco, well....)

Ole Miss fans, does it upset you? I am curious, and not to troll.

It kills me to say this....their pitching staff is legit and they can hit...and they can steal bases.

Bama better worry about Kennesaw.

They have a better program, and it does upset me. Much of Bianco's success came because he made a great hire in McDonnell (not McDonald).

Would McDonnell take the Ole Miss job or is he established in Louisville? I think he is staying. Jurich wi give him whatever he wants and I can see them doing well in the ACC.

Seems like they will do whatever to keep him. Bianco having the year he's had doesn't give us any option to go after him anyways...

When McDonald was at Ole Miss, I always thought Bianco hired him because they were the same height. Turns out he is pretty legit as a HC. As I recall, they beat Vandy in Vandy's Super last year to advance. I would say he is a really good coach.

Since we might be playing them ( Louisville ) I checked out their record vs. out of conference, legit big boy schools during the regular season ( West Virgina 1 game, Vandy 1, Kemtucky 2 games and Indiana 3 games ) and they lost 5 out of 7, beating W.V. 7-6 and Vandy 11-7.

In those 7 games Louisville gave up 47 runs.

NOT TO IMPRESSIVE....

Keep talking Gump. Louisville does this every year. They peak at the right time. Plus, their pitching staff is getting healthy. We seem to have their number during the regular season, when post season kicks in, the light bulb goes on for them.

A little. Not much. Bianco took a shitty program and made it into one of the most consistent top programs in the last 15 years. Yes, we've never been to Omaha, but we are always in contention. Mike has done one of the best coaching jobs in SEC history this year. We were pre-season bad...like reallll bad.

I don't know much about Louisville baseball, but Ole Miss generally puts all contributing players out early. And last recruiting cycle was tough. Lost 3 signees to the first round of the MLB draft at the three most important positions(C, SS, and SP)

McDonell will have UL win the CWS. I see them wrecking the ACC as well.

Sucks the program down I 65 is rolling and we have Hendo

It depends on the nature of Bianco's departure. They are very good friends that still talk constantly. Bianco leaving on bad terms almost guarantees McDonnell wouldn't move. With the ACC move and an AD that will outbid everyone, he basically has no reason to move anyway...

You'd be hard pressed to talk to an OM player from the early 00s that actually gives Bianco more credit than McDonnell for building OM on the front end...

1. Bianco is never going to leave on bad terms. He's made our program. Yes, some frat boys, who think they know baseball because they played for some shite high school and hit .150 their senior year, are going to chirp every year about Bianco because we haven't made it to Omaha and he likes to play smallball, but no AD would keep his job if a coach like Bianco went out on bad terms. If you have watched OM baseball throughout the Bianco era, you would have no thought of firing him.

2. McDonnell is a great coach and contributed a lot to our early Bianco era success, but he is gone...and we are still winning. That says it all. Not to take away from McDonnell, but there is a reason Bianco stayed our coach.

Yes. McDonnell would be a huge upgrade for us but he would never leave Lou for ole miss and I don't blame him.
