Two of the more stacked teams I can remember that didn't even win the SEC. What say you, Ranters?
Edit: Both were top ten in scoring offense and defense.

01 UF wins with ease
That offense makes 06 D look silly

I never felt as sick as I did after a loss like the UT game that year.

that 01 Florida squad lost to an unranked Auburn team that year. Daniel Cobb even looked like a decent QB that particular night.
I was there.
sorry for bringing that up and not answering your question at the same time.

yeah, weird arse night.
the wind was kicking.
and Duval actually made the game winning FG from pretty far out despite it.
then he missed one a year later against Florida from short range that crushed the rally.
go figure.

Too bad 2001 Tennessee was better than both of them.

I think that team was better than 2007 NC, honestly. I still remember the AZ game (although that team sucked) but that was such a nasty, hard-hitting game from their d.
both great teams

2006 Tennessee would have beaten LSU too if the refs would have correctly called the Russell fumble on the final drive. Oh well, I guess that was some crazy Lousianian voodoo karma on Tennessee for ripping the heart out of that state the year before on the Monday following Katrina in Death Valley.

The 2001 UF offense was the 2nd best offense in the BCS era by yards per play. 7.36. Only USC 2005 was better.
That team was the biggest head scratcher, because they had a top 15 defense too.
They shite the bed against Auburn on an incredibly windy night and then REALLY shite the bed against UT at home.
That title game against Miami in 2001 would have been epic had UF just taken care of business and gotten there.

This is the common sentiment among LSU fans. Other than the 2011 squad, the 2006 team might have been the best one since the turn of the century.

01 UF.
One of the best teams in the SEC since the 2000s that just didn't quite put it together. I have no doubt that if they had played UT in september when they should have that UF would have won the SEC that year.

that's cute
I have no idea who would win, but anyone acting like one team or another would be a slam dunk is either trolling or delusional

In my completely non-biased opinion. Once the 2006 LSU team started Keiland Williams the offense was more balanced and looked just as good as the 01 Florida team.
I also think the 2007 LSU team was better than the 2006 team. When healthy, the 07 team was just as dominant as other BCS champions.
