..in a conversation.

My friends laughed, I smiled.

The conversion is going swimmingly.

I know what you mean it slowly takes over you. I took this girl home the other night, total bombshell and was about to get it in. I realized she was my sister though. I just smiled and shouted SEC! You....

I'm from Mid-mo...people said Y'all all the time (except for a few that said y'unz). Got rid of it when I wen't to college and it only comes back after a few beers or when I'm on the phone doing business with someone from the deep south.

My sister says it all the time, but she hangs out with the lower class and had to go to continuation school to graduate high school.

My mom is southern and has/had a strong influence on my life, so I say y'all more times than not. It comes natural and faster to say than "you guys" or whatever.

I worked in the lead mines in semo one summer. That was the first time I ever heard y'unz, and they pretty much all seemed to say it.

Yinz is neutral here on the rant.

It is the preferred method by which a Mizzou fan is to address a group of people here on the rant unless they are willing to take a stance on the you guys/y'all battle.

So sayeth the psalm.

It's nice. For example:

Random SEC Rant poster: Auburn gonna win this shite again because Gus is the shite and he doesn't just run a high school gameplan and he chews tobaccy and believes in baby Jesus and racism. War damn Eagle!

Mizzou Fan: yinz are fricked.

See how that works? You really don't have to specify, the subject is the subject. It just works. Even if they don't know yinz is a Pittsburgh thing, it's just a thing. People get it. Pittsburgh isn't Big 10/ACC country, it's in the middle. So the frick are we. Yinz understand.

No one says yinz in Missouri.

The correct pronunciation and spelling is y'uns.

Therefore, I vote that we all immediately start using the word "y'uns" on this site as a grammar troll.

All in favor?

I agree and have already been doing this. I love perpetuating false stereotypes.

I am fix'in to say y'uns all the time from here on out.

My grandma (from N. Arky) used to say it anyway. The best part is that I already say y'all (spent 5 plus years in Austin as a young'in).

Sidenote: I move that once we have perfected y'uns that we move to saying "worsh" instead of wash.
