Don't know yet. Personally I think it's our writers trying to get clicks and exaggerating the injury.

Rumors are starting to swirl that his knee injury was more serious than first thought. He did recently have surgery which was kind of a surprise given we all thought it wasn't a serious injury. The rumor is now he could be taking a red shirt this year to heal. AU writers should have the details soon, but it's not looking good.

Gus was not sure of his status for the start of August practice, but nothing was hinted at being season ending. It is just over 60 days until the start of practice, even if it was just a scope it would take more time than that.
