I know last year there was basically zero depth behind Justin. So it's possible the coaches wanted to prevent him from getting injured from taking off on the keepers to much. That being said, with the coaching staff feeling more comfortable with the QB situation this year, do you guys think Butch has Worley keep the ball more? Knowing that Josh Dobbs is clearly more SEC ready(Physically, 2nd year with the scheme) this year than last?

Personally, I hope so. Even if it's just 3-4x more a game. I think(not that it matters) there needs to be that element of honesty that you're putting on opposing teams for this offense to truly run how it's supposed to. I realize it(the offense) doesn't have to, but preferably that's what the coaches would like.

What's everyones (all 5 of us) thoughts on the situation? And can this offense be as successful if Worley isn't keeping it and taking it off?

I really hope he does. The read option spread is predicated around the QB being a threat to take off and run. I remember when Dobbs came in last year you could see an immediate difference in how opposing Linebackers attack the LOS. They had to keep it in the back of their mind that Dobbs was a threat to run and that would make them hesitate somewhat.

I know Worley doesn't have the speed that Dobbs does but he at least has to run occasionally to keep the D from pinning their ears back and going straight to the RB.

I think so. Worley isn't a great runner but he's an effective runner and he's big enough to knock some defenders around if he gets trucking. When he ran last year he picked up yards. He ran it in the O&W game and although the defenders did take bad angles on him, Worley is faster than he looks. As a runner, he reminds me of Clausen a little bit - funny as hell to watch run but surprisingly effective.

IOW, he's not a graceful runner but he can and does get the job done.
