Why hasnt this guy gotten a HC gig? Has he had interviews during the offseason and just not taken a job? He has figured out how to stop the spread better than anyone. To me he has done an amazing job with the defense at LSU and deserves a ton (or a majority) of credit for their success.

Please no flames (I know there will be)...

and I also don't know if he would be great at it. He doesn't recruit all that much and really isn't a "people" person in interviews. He doesn't appear to want to deal with the bs of an HC position.

Doesn't want a HC gig, and it's probably for the best. Dude is pretty media awkward from I've seen of him on camera.

Fair enough...I was just curious. Myself and a Gump friend were discussing LSU over the past few years and Chavis came up and we were wondering why he wasnt with the great job he has done. Some guys just arent meant to be HC...Chavis might be one...

Doesn't want it. He loves being the DC at LSU and will probably retire in P&G.

Yeah, it's strange some guys are just content with the DC job even when they could be an HC somewhere.

I find that unlikely. People who don't like the limelight do not become coordinators at a major program

It's unlikely that he's never had the desire to be a head coach, but at his age now it wouldn't surprise me if he's not interested in it.

He doesn't come off as too awkward in interviews, in my opinion. He's just very short with his answers. I think he just doesn't like talking to the media. Can't really blame him for that.

Im pretty sure he has stated so. I believe he has turned down several HC jobs as well.

He's said many times that he refuses to be a HC. LSU is a place where elite coordinators come to stay.

exactly, he doesn't do interviews and you won't see him on tv. Hell, just search for interviews online. He's been here for what, 5 or so years...compare that to Cameron who's been here 1 year.

Just different styles and you can tell Cameron wants to be an HC some day.

He probably put more players in the NFL in the last 20 years than any other DC.
