My first thought on this article was honestly, what is the point of publishing this information? I don't know all the circumstances around the kids recruitment or how seriously LSU was recruiting him. But it seems strange that the newspaper would publish a story basically talking about how a kid settled on his second choice by going to Ole Miss.

If I were an Ole Miss fan, I would be insulted. Even if that's how the kid feels, I don't think that's something that needs to be put out there.

ETA: This is not intended as a flame in any way, so if it reads that way, it was unintentional.

I think their intention was to point out how mercurial the recruiting game is rather than make it sound like OM was his second choice. The way it's written definitely makes it sound like the latter, though.

If LSU would have recruited him like we did then he would have ended up at LSU. I think every OM fan that follows recruiting knows that. He was raised in Nola as a LSU fan because his dad is still a LSU fan. Y'all didn't want him until Florida took your #1 target and because of that type of recruiting y'all didn't get him. I don't believe that missed phone call was the final straw just that he wanted to emphasize OM wanted him more and how close he was to committing elsewhere. All post recruiting articles are like this. Kendarious Webster said that if FSU wouldn't have lost their DC then he would have ended up there. That's funny because he could have just stayed in state and played for him 45 minutes away at UGA. He recruited him extremely hard to UGA after the move. Kids just want to show that they could have gone to a bigger program if they wanted to. Only people that should take offense to this are people that don't think we have to recruit harder/better than the better programs to land the elite kids.

He was always LSU's to lose. We were absolutely his second choice.
