A little recap at the current and future city projects.

-Round-a-bouts are being installed on both the east and west sides of HWY 6 at Old Taylor. Old Taylor is shut down currently, but the project contractor gets a 500K bonus if he completes them by August. This will make the Old Taylor Bridge four lane'd and have 3 lanes to exit onto Old Taylor from 6.

-A similar round-a-bout will be placed at the exit onto Jackson street from HWY and they will finally fix up that terrible looking area of Oxford

-The trailer park that you see immediately to your left on Jackson will be converted into The Galleria II, which will connect to the Galleria a little further down Jackson that has the Belk

-The old Car dealership has been torn down and in its place will be a three tiered shopping/dinning/living complex that backs all the way up to Anderson

-Two new three store strip malls have been added to Jackson along with a new CSprire

-Past Molly Bar on Jackson on the left a similar set up to what they are replacing the Chevy dealership is going to be on the left while on the right side of Jackson they are extending those luxury 4 story condos from 4 connected building to 8.

- They are building a Boutique all balcony hotel in place of the old Bumpers on the Square

-The are rebuilding the University Hotel on the Square from the bottom up and it will be 140 feet tall.

-new movie theater is open on Sisk and they are constructing go-carts, put-put, laser tag etc around it along with many other developments around what is now the nicest HS in the State

- a new wine bar is now on the square

- new hospital on the way

-Gus' Fried Chicken on the square

The one next to the chevron? That's a good distance from Belk.

This is so awesome because making a left turn onto Taylor from eastbound 6 is the worst turn in town. If you show up there at the wrong time you may never get turned.

However, not having that road is going to really suck for this regional

Construction on the new hospital will begin in December i irc. They are gonna build a road to connect Belk and Old Taylor right by it and they are gonna tear down the old one and pave a new Belk that runs through where the hospital is now

This. I would normally end up just turning right and making a loop around the other round-a-bout.

Most of that is correct. The road will be built by August. Footings and stuff for hospital right after. Will be done December of 2017. They don't know what they are doing with our current building yet...

I don't know how many stories, but my father in law told me how many feet y'all it was gonna be. He is an engineer here and knows all that crap. I forget what he said though, like 140 or something?

Yeah, I thought there was a rule that nothing could be built taller than the courthouse. Plus a 14 story building would look pretty strange in Oxford.
