Gone

TN lost QB in Ferguson which now means they are having major question marks at QB. Worley just ain't it. I hope he plays because he got injured last year. The other two are the definition of meh. They are not a trap game. No way.

I honestly don't think we have any "trap games".

UT is sandwiched between 2 scrubs, but they gave us a scare last year and I know we're going to want to make a statement after what happened last year.

@Arky might seem like one since it's after @Mizz and before a bye, but they are woefully bad.

Arkansas is definitely the trap game..they were terrible last year but should be somewhat better right? Tennessee was the trap game last year when everyone knew they were awful, but I don't think there's any way we let them hang with us at home after last years game.

They'd almost have to be just by default. They'll be able to run, but our front 7 is clearly the strength of the D. I'm not sure they have any defense to speak of so we should score when we need to.

It was shaping up to be a total blowout before our knees started to blowout. Plus they wore a new uniform for the first time ever and were at home. No way we overlook that game this year at home.

I highly doubt Tennessee is a trap game. That was the game that derailed our entire season so I'm sure nobody will be overlooking it

Haha I forgot about those hideous grey uniforms they wore. What a joke.

Their entire fanbase absolutely LOVES them. All the UT people I know still talk about them and can't wait to wear them again. I don't get it..for one gray isn't one of their colors, and also it doesn't go with orange in the least bit.

Eh, they're okay. Not one of their colors, but references the "Smokies". I think that was the justification.

I would like our black jerseys back. DOH! Prepare for the thread hijack!

I think every UGA fan who isn't colorblind would as well. Just has to be the right time. We got too careless with how we used them and now they're tainted. They absolutley should return and I think they're probably the sharpest looking uniform in college football, but only when it's right.

Although, I'm not sure if they'll look as cool with the weird new age numbers we have now :/

FWIW I have heard several UT fans say that gray is one of their official colors actually. Something smoky or whatever. It's stupid but yall can ask a Vol and double check cause I am pretty sure it is one of their colors that just has been dormant for like 50 years.

Doesn't make it any less tacky/hideous. It's no black jerseys...

Agreed.

We lost A game in them. I don't really think it was a bad game to have picked to wear them, either. It was a big-time night game, versus Bama (who at that time hadn't really proven anything to anyone under Saban...see their 2007 season) and with us having one of the most talented teams in our history, ranked #1 in most polls (or close to it...started there, anyway). Frankly, it was the PERFECT time to bring them out. Just should have kept it under wraps a little better than they did and not let it become fodder for the press and bulletin board material. Then again, after how we used them in 2007, anyone could have guessed that the Bama game was a solid pick to bring them back.

If we had won that game, the black jerseys would be a very regular occurrence today. The story and how people feel about them now would be totally different. It's really sad that so many fans forgot how they felt about them on November 10th, 2007. I remember it well (BOTH games, actually), and I wish CMR would call them back up and dispel the stupid "bad mojo" argument.

We've lost a shite ton more games wearing red.

I'll say this about the Black jersey. Fake juice or not- that Auburn game was the most intense and awesome game experience I've seen in Sanford Stadium in my 20 yrs. rivaled by LSU (a couple of times actually) and Clemson EZ's freshman year.

Yep. The black jerseys should get busted out again for sure. People have far too easily forgotten that we wore them three times against ranked teams.

Blew out Auburn 45-20
Blew out Hawaii 41-10 (yes, they were a joke of a team, but are only viewed that way because of what we did to them. People conveniently forget that they were undefeated and ranked in the top 10)
Lost 41-30 to a Bama team that went 12-0 in the regular season.

There is no shame in the black jerseys at all, and they look damn good.

TN could roll about anybody out at QB and they would still play us harder than anyone they play all year. It's just the nature of the beast.

I agree, and people are far too hung up about the bama game. BUT, like it or not, that's the ONLY thing that'll get talked about when we wear them again. I'm not a negative nancy by any stretch, but whenever we do decide to wear them again it damn well BETTER be a game that we feel pretty confident in winning. If we lose our next game we play in them we'll never hear the end of it.

Personally, I'd like to see us use them like ND uses their greens. Once every 5 or 6 years for a huge game. And let it be known ahead of time, that way it's not "ooh UGA needs some fake juice to get pumped up for such and such.."

The trap game is in Arky/Mizzou since we have to go there this year. Tennessee is a home game and I feel like our boys will want to get even. Kentucky is NOT there yet. The only other loss I could see happening is either SC close or Auburn close.

However both of those teams have lost key pieces. We are getting SC early when they are breaking in a new QB and defensive pieces. We have Auburn at home and we nearly beat them last year without all the injured players. Not to mention CJP will teach our secondary to just knock the damn ball down that close to the end!

As I stated on another board:

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the East will be improved and has a chance to be deeper than the West this year.

Georgia has a week off before the SC and Florida game this season? Clemson, SC, Florida, Mizzou, and Auburn have lost key players to the draft. We have a new DC that has proven he can win big games with his scheme and his expertise is our weakness a season ago so I look for improvement there. We have coming back what I think is going to be a bad arse front seven on defense. We are dedicating more attention to special teams (And I think this McKenzie kid we got out of South Florida could be amazing on ST). Even with the crappy D and injuries four of the five losses from last season were a TD or less (I say again, "with all the injuries!") now we are getting back all our injured and our defense will be more experienced and hungry.. That could help us.

For SC Dylan Thompson is a great QB and I see him doing well if they can keep him upright. He's a true pocket passer though and no threat to run but when he came in he produced. They also have MDavis so their backfield should be stout. I think their defense will be good but will miss the pieces they lost. This is just me but I think since Ellis left their defense has slowly been dropping off but they seem to put together a good game.

Florida gets all their injured back and keep in mind with them in they were good even with a mediocre offense. Now they may have the scheme to get them over the hump. Their obstacle is their schedule. Yikes.

Look for Vandy to fall a lil (Due to lost pieces and Coaches) and Kentucky to rise under Stoops. He should field a lil better team now that they have had a year to learn things his way and he's gotten in some good pieces to fill in the gaps in production.

Tennessee is drinking the coolaid and really starting to believe. They've done pretty good recruiting and should be better but I can't keep from thinking they drop a couple this year that they shouldn't.

Mizzou will be good dispite their losses... maybe a lil weaker on defense but no dropoff in the QB department. They have seven home games and bye weeks before the Georgia game and I think A&M so thier schedule is nice and easy.

The big question for all these teams is who gets the injury bug next???
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I stand by what I said in the other two boards.

About the Black Jerseys I totally agree. They have a winning record and we shouldn't forget that, however we let it be known too early that they would be the jersey of the day and it was new at the time so Bama used it as bulletin board fodder. That game still erks me!

We let them jump out there quick and if you remember we were coming back hard in the second quarter but by then the damage was done and so were we.

Was it that bad or just too wordy??

I think I was doing a thought dump that day.

I think ND loses every game they play in green just about. It because it's usually against USC.
