Would you try and get someone fired over this sign?

Sounds like they did a good job of getting themselves fired by being a dumbass. Don't know that they'd need my help.

No, but the sign is a poor attempt at humor.

Domestic violence isn't funny

Yeah it's pretty clear to me the stupid manager was fired because he made light of a customer's complaint, not necessarily because of the sign.

I laughed at the sign, not a fan of domestic violence but I enjoy an original "I like my, like I like my" joke.

No, it's joke.
Some people find it funny, some don't. Although I don't think anything should be off-limits to say as long as it doesn't endanger someone (theater on fire).
If I'm an absolutist about anything, it's free speech.

Honestly they probably would've gotten away with it if they weren't a dick to the customer who mentioned it and then ran with it.
But if you're a GM you have to be smarter than allowing something that's in that bad of taste.

He wasn't arrested, which would have been a violation of his freedom of speech. He was fired, which is absolutely not a violation of free speech.

i like my coffee like i like my women... black and bitter.

i said original...
for example, I like my scotch like I like my women, aged 12 years.
ETA: I may have to sig quote that one, if I can word it a little smoother. Maybe I should go with aged 16 years though to throw off RG.

I like my coffee like I like my women...hot, black, and no pubic hair.
My dad told me that when I was like 14 and it's been my go-to ever since.
