McNeese's Mike Smith is the new Lady Reb skipper. Congrats, guys. Great hire. Made noise early and often in LC.

Yeah if he can't win at ole miss, then their program simply wasn't meant to win. Their previous coach was highly regarded as an up and coming coach, but she couldn't do shite there. Nice hire

Well, the guy is an NAIA NC winner with over 700 wins. He recruited lights out in Texas and LA.

Yeah I am surprised he took the offer as I'm sure he's been courted by some programs in better shape. Windy thees was a hot commodity at one point and ole miss probably ruined her career. Anyways ole miss should do what state has done; very weak schedule and bag lots of respectable transfers, then go for bigger fish (starting to think state does that for every sport

Our softball program has been a bottomless pit we just keep throwing money in because of Title IX. We have a nice facility but our team is just so awful it would be better just to not have one. Hopefully this guy can turn it around.

I've said this before, but our softball team can never compete because we aren't willing to recruit girls that will throw off our student body's hotness ratio, and I'm ok with that.
The golf team is doomed because our university course isn't that great and there isn't a legit golf course within an hour drive of Oxford. We can't recruit kids because of these things.

The few softball players I did know when I was there weren't anything to write home about.
