Hope and pray that Dobbs pans out. We know what we've got in Worley and Peterman but I was really hoping that 1 of the Dobbs or Ferguson would take the reigns this year. frick.

It hurt. I do think Worley and Dobbs were both ahead of him, but he would have been good depth next year with Worley graduating. I think it will help with selling a potential QB prospect though now that the depth chart has more breathing room. Going into 2015 it's only Dobbs and Peterman on the roster. That's scary.

Somewhere in between. Year two in that offense has some major potential if you can settle on one QB and the OL gets straightened out quickly.

Rumors starting to come out that it could be over the Ganja. Purely unfactual rumors, but something people are starting to wonder about

Meh, it's not good but it's not the end of the world. I don't think having ferguson next year or the year after would make a huge difference in our record.
Of course we will never know for sure so I'm taking the glass half full approach

It certainly hurts. I really hope Dobbs has improved in the off season because the other two aren't SEC caliber QBs IMO.
Damnit Riley, I always knew he was trouble because of those damn tattoos! (Joking of course)

This sucks, but I'm not surprised by it. I posted a while back I thought he'd end up transferring. I was hoping I was wrong when I saw everyone else play.

So he called the head coach in the last couple of days and said he wasn't coming back. Jones tried to convince him to return but Ferguson wasn't interested in coming back. I think that he ends up at Charlotte playing with his brother."

On Ainges segment, he had this to say about Ferguson(Paraphrasing from a poster on 247)
Sounds like he had some Tyler Bray sprinkled in to his personality. I'll be dead honest, I thought he was going to be a player for us, but hind sight is 20-20. The player who hasn't taken a snap is always the best player in the minds of the fans. I think that may have happened this time around. He probably had all the tools in the world to be successful but let's be honest, just from the spring game alone (That's all I've been able to see with my own eyes) he was sitting at 3rd on the depth chart. 2nd at the highest, and that's pushing it. It sounds like he got cold feet with the QB competetion.
The silver lining I'm trying to take with all of this is that I think that position just got more attractive to potential recruits. At least I hope that's the case.
quote:
- Ferguson wanted to be the man
- Didn't want to put in the work necessary
- No room for that at UT
- Butch had known for a while
- Every time Riley went home it was a struggle to get him back on campus
- He was a talented QB and at the very least had a good shot at backup
- Mentioned Devrin Young who had to adjust his expectations and find his spot on the team instead of leaving to go somewhere else to have it his way

If true, sounds like a pretty big pussy IMO

That and it shows that Butch isn't gonna put up with any bullshite and that's worth something
We all remember the stories about the players not giving a frick what Dooley said/thought

Btw I noticed I nailed the prediction on our QB situation last year in that thread, kudos to myself

Not fricked at all. Fergy was all potential but unharnessed potential is a waste.
Worley - major improvements. He and Dobbs are both out in Cali working with Whitfield (first time for Worley so I'm glad Josh got him out there).
Dobbs - most improved. He's been gaining weight, working with Whitfield every single break as well as another trainer in ATL.
Both have been putting major work in and both will finally have WRs that can run routes and catch the ball.
Peterman - even Peterman is improved.
RF - all we heard was big arm, hype, hype, hype, then he gets his chance to show it the spring game is an utter disaster for Fergy while that same game is a good one for Worley, a great one for Dobbs, and solid for Peterman.
No doom and gloom here. If our Oline can pass protect at all we have too many weapons for QB play not be vastly improved.
