Steve Spurrier has now been the head of USCe for 9 years

While at USCE, he has:
- 1 SEC East title
- 0 SEC Championship titles
- 0 National titles
By comparison, Mark Richt was catching major shite in 2009 because he had gotten UGA 3 East titles, 2 SEC titles, but not a National title.
Will Spurrier ever catch the same flack as Richt? Is he absolved because of his career at UF? Or is it because leading USCe to even that one SEC East title is a lifetime achievement in the spanse of their team history?

UGA is a much much better program than SCe. Richt has underachieved.

Considering SC had only won a 1969 ACC championship before Spurrier arrived. I'd say he's done a great job.
Nobody does less with more than Mark Richt.

I'm curious where this leads, but you bring up a good point. Is the SEC commending CSS on moral victories when he set the bar at UF for a Natty?

South Carolina had pretty much no football history before Spurrier.

I hope after Spurrier's 13th season we aren't finishing 8-5, unranked, and losing a lowly ranked bowl game.
Not to mention our 1st 3 top 10 finishes, 1st top 5 finish, 1st 3 11 win seasons, longest home win streak in nation, 1st win over #1 team, etc. etc. etc.

He is one year away from tieing Houston Nutt's record for tenure at a school without making a BCS/Major bowl (10 years).
Next year he will tie Bowden at Clemson for the overall (11 1/4) and instate record, he will set the record the year after that.

Well, it wouldn't be a departure from your current state of failing to win the division or making a BCS bowl

Let's not act like SC hasn't had BCS bowl worthy teams these last 3 seasons. For God's sake we finished 4th last year. We've been handicapped by the conference BCS bowl limit while we've watched teams like NIU, Wake Forest, and Cincy get in there.
Not to mention watching Clemson and UCF get in there last year, 2 teams we beat.

I almost bit, I really did. Had something typed out and everything but...meh, nah.

Let me throw out another stat:
In a decade, Houston Nutt had 3 divisional Championships.
Spurrier has won the much weaker SEC East 1 time in that same span. Even Pinkel has been able to achieve that.

See picture of granny dawg above in this thread.
BTW, Roman Empire, Third Reich, etc.
What is UGA's record vs SCAR since the '92 expansion? Since the new millennium started 14 yrs ago even?

Okay and we've also had, by far, the best SEC record and vs SEC East record of the division over the last 4 seasons and I believe our 33 wins over the last 3 years are 3rd only behind 'Bama and Oregon.
The cookie has undoubtedly crumbled in very unfortunate circumstances that hasn't allowed us to come away with as much hardware as we'd like to have, but to act like Spurrier has done little to nothing here is absurd and ignorant.
Are you still made we ruined your homecoming?
