Will Auburn really do what they did last year? Who else might?

Am I the only one who doesn't think Auburn repeats what they did last year? Does anyone not remember:

Four games they pulled out of their butts with back-to-back all-timer miracle finishes
Blowout loss to LSU
Very tight game against Wazzou?

There is a fine line between going 12-1 and 7-5, and Auburn walked it last year. I don't see them doing it again. SEC DCs will be preparing for their offense in the offseason with a year of tape. Their defense kind of sucked for most of the year, and they lost Dee Ford.

Auburn seems to blow up once every four years or so but not maintain it over a long period. They had a favorable schedule last year, drawing Tenn from the East and getting UGA and Bama at home. They may even start 5-0, with a win at home over LSU. But, then it gets real interesting, with:

@MSU
SC
@OM
A&M
@UGA
cupcake
@Bama.

Every game but the cupcake (Samford) is highly losable. Pay particular attention to that game at MSU next year, which is the game after LSU.

Speaking of MSU, I see Mississippi State being this year's Auburn. MSU's defense is really good with stellar D-line and secondary play, and Dak Prescott coming into his own with a beast No. 1 WR. They need a RB and another WR to step up. I can see MSU going 9-2 heading into the Ole Miss coin flip next year, possibly 10-1 if they can ever get over the LSU hump. A really good defensive team has a much better chance of being really good than a really good offensive team, last year notwithstanding.

I see Auburn having a year similar to Texas A&M last year, 8-4 kind of thing.

Yes, I know, tl;dr. But, it seems that Auburn is really being considered one of the elite teams of 2014, with the likes of teams like Alabama, Mich. St., Oregon, Stanford, FSU, etc. and that seems absurd to me.

You don't consider the end of the UGA and Bama games at two of the most amazing finishes in Auburn history (possibly the two MOST amazing finishes)?

Malzahn has been running the same damn offense since 2006 in plain view of all SEC DCs. Why didn't they do anything last year?

UGA was a miracle.

The others were just outplaying the opponent in an amazing fashion.

You said 4, not 2. And the Bama finish was excellent coaching, nothing more.

I am going to assume the other 2 were Miss St and A&M.

All these years I never knew that running a two minute offense was considered a miracle.

Man, that FSU win was a miracle like no other.

We didn't hit stride until after the Texas A&M game, if we played the first part of the schedule over after that point it's not even close. Even LSU loses to Auburn by 10 after the A&M game.

I also consider the UGA game an epic AU collapse since they were up 21 at halftime.

The Bama game was tied when we returned that kickoff. We had been significantly more successful in the redzone and had a kicker. If that game goes to OT Bama misses at least one FG and loses

Yes, a team that went to the NC and returns almost everyone in the 2 deep has no business being considered one of the favorites this year.
