Veterans are the best for making decisions on war because they know what it entails. I would say that military service ought to be compulsory for political office -- if you're not willing to die for your country, you certainly shouldn't be allowed to lead it.

Come at me.

I would prefer that the people making laws actually have law degrees.

agree 100%

My lawyer job was just that, a lawyer jab.

But no banker should ever be involved in politics imo.

Okay. It's actually the opposite in Alabama's legislature now. It used to be that a strong majority of the legislators were lawyers. Now it's something like 15%. That's how you get stupid laws and stupid people like Scott Beason

Having a law degree doesn't make you any better at making actual laws

The disturbing part of that graph is the career politician group

The only thing I noticed was the huge jump in bankers and executives. Basically the guys landing political jobs were previously in the business of lobbying. Scary thought

I don't want you assholes making our laws though. Nor a career politician. All better than fricking lawyers though.

The more I think about it...The more I want no one writing our laws. Probably not pratical.

An ideal world would be veterans who obtained law degrees in order to know the 'system' imo

And were also Aerospace engineers so they could think up cool shite on their own instead of just copying what a bunch of other people said.
