The best safety of the group, in my view, was Ryan Smith from Auburn. Smith plays with really nice movement and flexibility. He not only lined up at safety, but he played some corner and in the slot as well. The only thing that scared me on tape was his lack of ability to finish the tackle but he is around the ball a bunch.

I have always thought Jake Holland would make a pretty good living in Spain as a Matador.

Don't get me wrong chiz wasn't the right man for the job at AU (but did find lightening in a bottle with Gus & Cam) but when it comes to finishing a play and making the tackle that really has to fall on the players shoulders IMO. Coaches teach guys to be in the right place. The player has gotta do the rest. Maybe strength and conditioning could be to blame or a position coach teaching fundamentals. Chiz was bad but damn he's starting to become like Bush W. and taking the blame for everything.

Well, Auburn went from having damn good defenses ( ______ until 2008) to complete horseshite (started in 2009). It started when he got here, and continued throughout his tenure.

To play along, when Rhodes got to Iowa state, he said the first thing he would do is reteach fundamentals, mainly tackling.

The defense was garbage. We had some playmakers that made enough plays to save our asses
