Kid wants to visit each of these schools, along with Mizzou. Don't need help with Mizzou, but is there anything at your respective schools that is a must see/must do that might sell her on your school? Am not talking about from a party point of view. She'll find that all out on her own and I ain't helping her with it.

Ford Center is pretty neat. If you visit they will definitely give you a tour of the Lyceum. Don't go to the student union, it's terrible and depressing. Go eat at any of the restaurants on the square.

ETA: Just walk around the campus. Place really sells itself.

Are you signed up for tours at each school? If you're in Fay I can give you my contact and give you a tour or something

Just googled it. Her high school has a pretty big arts department so I'm sure she'll enjoy the Ford Center.

Yeah, we'll do the generic tours, and I'm sure they'll hit most of the main stuff, but didn't know if there were some things that might get skipped over with the tours. Dad is of course going to make sure we stop by the football and baseball fields. I'll hit you up Marty once we have a firm date set.

Yea it's pretty much like "this is here and this is this." Maybe you'll get lucky and get a tour by yourself in which you could actually go in some buildings and get to tour the college for whatever major she wants.

Depends on your interest in majors. Amongst the ones listed, Vanderbilt is clearly the best one listed as a general university.

Georgia should also probably be on the visit list. Auburn has its plusses. Great engineering, vet school and architecture schools.

No question that Vandy is an excellent school. However, I'm also a believer that school is more about what you put into it. You can get an excellent education no matter where you go as long as you want it. As I tell her, in one sense, it's an easy decision because they're all good choices. If it's a bad option, it won't be an option because dad will take it off the board for her.

All good schools no doubt. But I ain't really pushing her to any one school. She picked the others out on her own. Her latest interest has been in international business, with minors in whatever foreign languages. But those things tend to change over time. Told her there is no hurry in figuring out what she wants to major in.

It might be easier to tell you where to go at Bama if I knew her major. As a civil engineering grad, I would tell you to set up a meeting with dean Carr. Very charismatic guy and great to talk to. When Saban goes on these public speaking tours, he always brings Carr along to open for him. Very impressive guy and he'll surely set up a private tour with a student.

Bama has a pretty impressive business school. The old observatory is near the business school area. I would check it out for the historical aspect. One of the five buildings that wasn't burned down during the civil war.

If I recall correctly, mizzou has a reputable international business program. A friend of mine from high school went to mizzou for it and found a good job upon graduating.

I would also check out Foster Auditorium. It's where the "stand in the schoolhouse door" was. They recently renovated the building and surrounding area. Little known fact. The longest shot in an NCAA basketball game was once made in the building. There's still a golden X on the court where the shot was taken.

Check out the Bryant Museum across the street from the baseball field. Only costs about $4 or $5. There's a lot of football history in there.

Try to get in the President's Mansion or just chill out in the shade on the Quad for a good 20-30 minutes.

They do. Though things change from year to year, we are familiar with Mizzou and she's actually visited there already. She still wanted to check out the other schools so was looking for any guidance/help on things to hit at those schools.
