Gamecock Baseball: 40+ wins for 15th straight season

Yes this is a circle jerk thread for SC fans but this kind of goes with that school streak thread started the other day.
SC beat the Citadel 10-1 tonight to get there 40th win of the season which is our 15th straight. Haven't had a non-40+ win season since Tanner's 3rd year in 1999.
Obviously this contributes to the longest consecutive NCAA tourny streak in the SEC. As of right now I don't expect a national seed but I do expect a regional host. Given how we've played on the road I'd predict that we get through the regionals and lose in the Supers on the road unless we can get our hitting going.

Another amazing stat for Gamecock Baseball:

Amazing - the #Gamecocks (16-11) will finish .500 or better in the SEC for a 17th straight year. Next longest active streak? Vanderbilt, 5.

Holy shite. That is impressive.

That seems hard to believe. LSU won the national championship in 2009. When since then have they had a losing conference record?

2011. Went (36-20, 13-17) & missed the tourney all together.

That's a very admirable run.
To say I'm envious is an understatement.

Thanks, but about that "last decade" thing:
I do believe we were playing in the Omaha for CWS national championships in the 70s. Or perhaps I dreamed that?
We started building our baseball program a long time ago ... Bobby Richardson.

This is true really this program's been remarkable the last 40 years, going back to '74.

Yeah where LSU separates itself comes in 2 distinct categories.
SEC tournament titles:
LSU - 10 (8 since SC joined)
SC - 1 (granted Tanner never emphasized it much)
National title game / series appearances
LSU - 6
SC - 6
National titles
LSU - 6 ( )
SC - 2
We will always have the distinction of having the last title at the Blatt and the 1st in TD Ameritrade though.

There is no questioning LSU's superiority as a program.
But we're gaining some fricking ground

No doubt, but that impressive title run they had in the '90s has many overshadowing the longevity of our baseball success.
For those that don't know for all of Tanner's success he left the position still in 2nd on our all-times wins list. Though he only was 30+ I believe from breaking June Raines record so it would've been his if he didn't take the AD spot.

29 actually:
June Raines (763-380-2)
Ray Tanner (734-313)
GOATs

We also own the record for longest post season winning streak and longest winning streak in Omaha.
Most impressive about LSU, the one that will probably never be topped, they are undefeated, 6-0, in championship games.
We are 2-4.
LSU has beaten Whitchita State twice in Championship games, Miami, Bama, Stanford and then finally Texas in 2009.
SCAR has beaten UCLA and Florida in Championship games, but lost to Texas twice, Arizona and Arizona State.
Both have faced the who's who of winningest programs in the history of the NCAA, of which both of our programs are members.

Thats an awesome stat.
FWIW, I dont think the SECT carries much weight cause so many teams that are locks to host mail it in but someone has to win it and LSU has done that a bunch.
The NC's are quite impressive by LSU but SC is no slouch. Impressive run.
