Florida is going to be really good next year.

USCe will be dangerous, but mediocre.

UT will be a better team by season's end, but will start off really shitty.

Mizzou, Vandy, KY will suck.

Don't see it. UT doesn't have a QB and no trenches on either side. I see them winning 4 games. Don't forget that Jancek is their D-coordinator. And UF is still HC'd my Muschamp. He coaches 'me up like we do, only worse.

I will believe that UF will be good when their QB DRiskell gets his head out of his arse. It hasn't happened yet, and I can't imagine that yet another new offensive philosophy will help much. I will also have to see how much the OL improves. They will also miss the CB talent that left early, but their defensive recruiting has been good. Offensive recruiting much less so.

I honestly have no idea who will win the East this year. Look at Mizz last year...who in the frick ever thought that. I would love to pound my chest and scream UGA...but lets be honest, we don't exactly live up to the hype...ever.

I will give my take on how each team should be:

UF - Good. They recruit way to well on defense to not be good. Even over the past few years, the lowest I've seen FL in a long time, they still took us to the wire. Don't count FL out...ever.

UT - They lost some pretty hefty line talent, so I think like mentioned before they start off crap and end up being a descent team. I honestly see them going bowl

Mizz - Another team that lost a lot of talent. This one is hard to determine for me, but just remember we play them in Columbia and they beat us with the guy who is starting for them this year. We were pretty banged up, so I just don't know. Im hoping we crush them, but Mizz just isn't that bad.

Vandy - Its time for some revenge. They lost some guys too, so I believe order will be restored this year , ecsp with Franklin gone.

Kentucky - I will continue to assume UK is the worst team in the SEC until they do something....anything to prove me wrong. They had some success recruiting, but I think they continue to be the SEC East doormat.

USCe - This team has the potential to take the East this year even without Clowney. They have a solid team and I believe is on equal footing with UGA> Factor in that we play them in Columbia where they curb stomped us last time and everyone should be worried about this game. I truly believe we will be praying for another team to beat them before the end of the year to grab that East title.

If I had to rank the teams based on talent and chances I'd say
UGA/USCe
UF
UT
Mizz
Vandy

Pretty accurate with UF being a possible dark horse in the mix capable of making a hard run in turn four.

So they're going from 4-8 to really good? Did they bring in Malzahn without anyone knowing? What's your reasoning here? I know they have a bunch of talent, especially on D, but Driskell still sucks and the culture and mental makeup of that team seems irreparable.

This is about as muddled as any year in recent memory for the east. UGA/UF/SC are all pretty much wildcards. I would give us the nod, but I wouldn't be surprised to see either of those other 2 have really good seasons.

UT is on the right track and getting better, but still don't have enough in place yet. Missouri won't be nearly as good as last year, but should still be alright.

Vandy and UK will probably be bad.

In my completely clueless opinion...

UGA
UF
USCe
UT/Mizzou
KY
Vandy

Florida and USCe will both be solid teams this year and by no means a sure W

UT and Mizzou can also be roadblocks

Kentucky should get somewhat better seeing as they have a coach that can recruit some decent players

Vandy is still reeling from Franklin leaving. I have no idea what to expect from them

If Mason is good, UGA is the best team in the east pretty easily. If he isn't, it's a wide open race.

USCe will always be good under Spurrier, but they'll always have one or two chicken curse losses.

Tennessee will take such an arse whipping in Norman that I'm not sure they'll recover all season.

UF goes as Driskel goes. So far, that's been bad.

Missouri won't catch the same lucky breaks they did last year (playing UGA and UF with a bunch of injuries).

Vandy takes a major step back, and Kentucky will be waiting for basketball season.

There's a whole lot of If's scattered across the East. I do like our chances though if Gurley stays healthy and Pruitt's D is improvement.

Saw someone post that we could have a potato at QB this season and still win. Not too sure about that but HM should have the best supporting cast that UGA's had in quite awhile, if ever. And you're spot on about UT in Norman. And that's the tip of the iceberg that is their schedule.......brutal. CBJ has his work cut out for him holding the Vol Navy Ship together. I think your entire post is accurate. Mizzou's honeymoon is over. They'll always remember their romping of us last season with fondness. Those will be few and far between in the future.

Good point. Florida faces Bama and LSU from the West. They will surely be better than last year but I'd place the odds of the four favorites to win the SEC East as follows:

Georgia 30%
South Carolina 30%
Mizzou 20%
Florida 20%
