Cincinnati has at least been to a couple of Super Bowls and almost won in their last appearance (Joe Montana made sure that didn't happen though). Cleveland is where careers go to die before they even start.

JFF will have a long career as a pro-bowler. Maybe even a super bowl thrown in. He's already put the Browns on the national radar without touching a ball.

AJ is a journeyman at best.

ajs situation is much better. dalton is not entrenched, and if aj works as hard as he did at alabama he very well could take over. there is nothing wrong with his game. JFF is in a disaster waiting to happen

Eh hard to tell. AJ looks like he'll be a journeyman and backup for about 5-6 years before eventually retiring to Bama and becoming the QB coach or being the douchey over 30 guy who still goes to frat parties. If the Browns build a good oline around Johnny he may actually have a productive career.

JFF may have a fine NFL career, but the Browns will not reach a superbowl. Get real.

The only problem with AJ's situation is the fact that Dalton was a better QB the year he entered the draft than AJ will ever be, and he has only gotten better.

AJ will never get a real chance to start but will be a serviceable, game-manager type of a 2nd-5th stringer for a few good years.

You are confusing the reign of the father with the joke the son has made of his dad's team.

Since Brown became owner, the team has had only 5 winning seasons out of 23 and has a winning percentage of .403 (151-224-1) in the regular season and .000 (0-5) in the playoffs. In 2008, the Bengals set a record for the most games needed under one specific owner to attain 100 wins (288). In 2010, the team set a record for the least games needed to lose 200 (both considering and not considering playoffs) under one specific owner (314).

The Bengals hold a number of distinctions for the time frame of Brown's ownership: It is the only team with three nine-game-or-more losing streaks. It also holds six of the twenty-five 0-6 starts (24%) and four of the thirteen 0-8 starts (31%) in that time. The Bengals have gone winless in October nine different times in twenty-two years under five different head coaches (Sam Wyche was originally hired by Paul Brown).

I would say the same for the Bungles under Mike. It is interesting to note that his dad won with both the Browns and the Bengals while he was at each team.

Cleveland is in the throes of Johnny Mania.
It's sick.
No clue how/if that will translate to improving the franchise.

AJ is also on a team where he can make a difference.
Not as much pressure on him.
Could mean he quietly puts up some decent numbers.

Ultimately, no one has a clue; and all of these SECRanters who speak declaratively, as if they know something that everyone else doesn't, are silly.

Maybe Johnny and AJ will meet up for an Ohio beer or two.

AJ comes in with no pressure. He will be a back up and have no exaggerated expectations for a couple of seasons. He also has the potential to take over if he pans out and Dalton continues to be average.

Johnny may be a great football player, but the expectations will be tough to handle. The Browns have had 20 starting QBs since 99. I have zero faith that the line will ever give Johnny a shot.

Brown's tenure at the Bungles is pretty well known. I really feel AJ went to one of the worst possible franchises. He could be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but Cincinnati is known for their failures. Think of Brown as a "mini me" of Jerry in their ability to let their ego turn success into failure.

Except the part where he shits his pants when pressure gets in his face.

You are either related to AJ or blow him regularly.

I did think it was ironic, given what good friends they are, that they both ended up in Ohio.
