Just how good is Les Miles, really?

People always put him up as one of the top coaches in America, but when you get down to it, aside from one of the most fortuitous seasons in decades he's really fairly average. Let's just take a look shall we?
2005: 11-2 with a home loss to an average UT team. Won the west in year 1, credit is due there. Then got shellacked by UGA in the title game. Whooped miami in the peach bowl.
2006: 11-2 with losses to auburn and florida. Won sugar bowl convincingly. Very solid season.
2007: 12-2 with losses to an average UK team and a bad arkansas team. Hung on to win the SEC against an average UT team, and played for (and won) the natty despite near miraculous odds. Despite 2 bad losses (including the last game of the regular season) and going into championship weekend 7th, they had #1 lose to an atrocious unranked team and #2 lose as well. They jumped from 7 to 2 overnight and was undoubtedly the luckiest team to win a title in the BCS era.
2008: 8-5 with blowout losses to UF, UGA, and ole miss, with additional losses to alabama and arkansas. Won the peach bowl.
2009: 9-4 with losses to UF, bama, and ole miss regular season and a citrus bowl loss to penn state
2010: 11-2 with losses to auburn and arkansas. won the cotton bowl
2011: Excellent, dominant regular season and SEC champs that lost the national title game. *original comment changed, due to misunderstanding. Did not get received in the way I intended*
2012: 10-3 with losses to UF and bama regular season and a peach bowl loss to clemson.
2013: 10-3 with losses to UGA, ole miss, and bama.
So what do we have? In 9 seasons only 1 year with less than 2 losses. 4 seasons with 3 or more losses. 2 SEC titles in 9 years and 1 gift wrapped national title. So to restate the title..exactly how good is he? He usually has his team fired up for big games, but will inexplicably lose to the arkansas and ole miss's of the world on a pretty regular basis as well.
IMO, if you take away the miracle 2007 season, he's no better than Mark Richt, and might even be worse actually.

Damn, the butthurt is strong from this one.
It's not like we were the only team that beat yall last year. Yall also got destroyed by Florida State. Go be pissed at them.

Thank god for cheating refs and Cam Newton, or Auburn would be 0-9 against him

YOu can still have a discussion on the topic at hand regardless of what A&M's record against him is, I would think.

You'd fit in well at the Rant.

Why don't you respond to those that are engaging. Instead of rallying the troops against LSU fans.
dork.
dork.

Both had great regular seasons. Both won huge games. Both won the SEC. Both lost the NCG and walked away with only an SEC championship.

Both had great regular seasons.
One went undefeated, with only 1 team coming close to beating them in the regular season.
The other got dominated in a loss, and then relied on miracles for a couple of other games to win.

OK, people don't give Miles credit for anything. Tell me something I don't know. Been hearing this for years. We will continue to go on and win at least 10 games a year. Keep it coming.

I'd be worried if I was you too. Our current head coach in his first year has already done more than Miles did in his first and shows no signs of slowing down.
