This is happening to me right now. They are trying to bash the "cable cutters" with higher internet rates. I have satellite, so to them, I did cut the cord. I pay way too much for what I get. $60/mo for internet

Do you have just internet? They told me yesterday without phone or tv, it was 44/mo plus about $200 in install fees. And its slower than what I currently get

Yep, signed up with them about 5 years ago for internet and phone. Cut the phone out a little after and just kept the phone. After a year I called them and talked them down to $30. And there was no instillation fee. In fact they gave me $100 to keep or upgrade my modem.

I've found that ATT and DirectTV are much easier to deal with. Especially their Customer Retention lines. Comcast don't give a F. When I was signing up for cable I told Comcast that DTV would install it for free and they told me there's no way they'll come out and install it for free. Made my decision pretty easy.

Yall think yall are fricked, i dont even have a choice for dsl. Att doesnt service my area. And only one cable provider. Doesnt stop them from sending me mail, but when u call, sorry out of service area. I could get satellite but id still have to pay 80 for cable internet. Total fricking racket.

Yep, it's definitely a you get what you pay for situation. Cable internet is more expensive but you get at least 3 times the bandwidth for your money. I have had Cox Cable for many years and will not settle for less as long as we can afford it.

It's usually satellite. Hughesnet and whatnot. I was looking at that over here in Georgetown, but settled for a 70 foot tower in my yard and wireless internet.
