But when that self-belief crosses over to delusion and possibly dishonesty, the red flags start a-flyin’.

The flag is decidedly crimson at the quarterback position, where multiple scouts are befuddled by Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron’s recent insistence that he’s being consistently told by multiple teams that a first-round grade has been applied to him — and that he could go as high as No. 16, to the Cowboys.

Dallas isn't taking a QB at 16, and even if they did it DAMN sure wouldn't be mcarron.

Meh, more then likely he is listening to his handlers/agent when he states that. they(agents) are salesmen for both sides afterall

This. His agents are trying to over inflate his stock. It happens every year with multiple players.

Geno smith

found a few interesting quotes

quote:

I've spoken to people close to McCarron, and they tell me that he's being told to act like the top quarterback in this draft. The top quarterback doesn't play in the Senior Bowl if he's eligible.

quote:

Within the state of Alabama, most think he's in the top five picks. Outside of Alabama, you hear people say he may not even be a fourth- or fifth-rounder. I think the answer is somewhere in between. I think if you asked all 32 teams right now on a bell curve, there'd be two or three teams who would have him potentially as a high second-round, maybe even late first-round pick, then there would be two or three teams that would have him in the fourth or fifth round, that are not that impressed with his arm strength, what have you. The vast majority of scouts I have spoken to see him as a second- or third-round pick.

Represented by 5 star, who has bama grads as agents

Anyone know if McCarron was invited to the draft?
