in defense of what Jamies Winston did, this FSU player, Marquez White starts tweeting how it isn't fair that they don't have enough food...that they should be paid, etc....

during his tweeting, some UGA player starts agreeing with him etc...

I don't really understand this, what will change from previously? Currently players have unlimited access to the dining halls and can eat as much and as often as they want.

Does this "new" policy let them eat at other places besides the dining hall as well?

I am absolutely going off of weak info but I wanna say they only got 3 meals and it wasn't unlimited, their snacks had "limits" (like how bagels are ok but cream cheese isn't", and they could never take food to-go.

That said, how can our DBs and shite go home hungry but our OL and DL outweighs sumo wrestlers?

There are tons of players that think like this. Adrian Peterson has been a huge proponent of this and even compared it to slave labor. Not that I agree with it but Brandon Langley is not the first to say football players should be compensated and in some ways I agree. The school makes a shite ton of money and the stipends are generally small but I understand what your saying but these kids are uber talented athletes that have had people kissing their asses for years. You think that education thing they are getting means anything....hardly. If you ask most of them they wouldn't even go to school if they could avoid it. Just look at the NBA.

Why would they not get the same access to the dining halls as a normal student?

More so for other sports then football. Football is a different animal when it comes to what they get

To keep it equal for smalle football programs who don't have as accommodating a meal hall? Idk. I may be wrong but I wanna say that's the case and that it is to keep it fair for poorer schools.

Only schools against the unlimited meals now are smaller ADs. SEC schools don't care.

i dont give a damn...how much does a four year education cost at the University of Georgia?

They are getting paid...you got a lot of kids who would die to go to UGA and are settling for coastal georgia community college cause that is what they afford...how much $$$ is Peterson making now?...how did he get there?...would he have the same success in the NFL had he not honed his skills in college, gotten bigger, etc?...frick no...bball players can go stright to the NBA nand be fine, but football?...they need those four years...to grow...if nothing else....plus, they need an education whether they want it or not....what are they if they blow a knee out if no education of some sort?...nothing but another uneducated punk with no skills for real life...at least the eduction provides them with something...these guys are whiny little bitches....period...

and Jamies Winston knew exactly what the frick he was doing, and I doubt he is starving...

Stealing is stealing no matter what. And to justify it as if they were starving is downright ludicrous

I was limited when I was in school by what I could pay for. People who say that players should get paid make me want to vomick! I'm paying for two at UGA as we speak, and they're both talented and smart. Shouldn't someone pay them? Oh yea, they can't run fast and jump high enough! I forgot!!

Shoplifters choose high dollar items like crab legs because they are worth more when they sell them off. The guy didn't steal them to eat, he stole them to resell. Local restaurants buy from shoplifters all the time becuse it's cheaper than wholesale. My bet would be that the police there know exactly what is going on with this.

The real issue here is that Winston was racially profiled. If Aaron Murray or another white player took some crab legs, they wouldnt have been caught because no one would have been watching him. Winston is the victim of a racist society that unfairly assumes all black males could be theives and need to be watched.
