I see no reason why an easier game couldn't be subbed by every school.

It saves money (schools don't have to shell out the bucks to another mid-major)

Helps competition. Iron sharpens Iron

Clearer picture of a champion on each side

The most important to me, it keeps teams with multiple cross-division rivalry games from deteriorating those rivalries and frees up an extra space for future expansion of the SEC

The decision made today handcuffed the conference I love to its past not allowing it to sail smoothly into the future

It's because Georgia was going to be short home games and still wanted to be able to schedule good OOC games. DWI

you are just being logical; thinking clearly and being objective. these things are not the way the sec business is conducted. you should be ashamed of yourself. it's a pussy move not going to 9 games. this conference made itself great by adhereing to certain principles and now that we've "made it" we're making stupid decisions. the peak has been reached and the downhill side is visible.

Iron sharpens iron?

LOL
Like another matchup against Vandy would help sharpen iron.

A 9th game isn't tougher. By definition, it is more of the same (you are just as likely to get Bama v Vandy or Bama v Kentucky as you are going to add a Georgia or South Carolina).

And it doesn't save money. It costs money.
The SEC splits revenue.
When 14 teams play eachother, that is only 7 games.
7 games is fewer than 14 (I have to explain this for the Gumps)

This is comical coming from a Mizzou fan... but we do NOT need an expansion. 14 teams is enough. Weve only played aTm, Ole Miss, and Bama from the West so far. Were on pace to take a trip to each non-"rival"'s campus 8x per century... not cool.

Slive is smarter than everyone on this board.

The proof is in the pudding.
The SEC is on top.

This was the smartest, most practical, and most profitable decision by far.

Some are just too inbred to get it.

Maybe you forgot the gigantic ice storm that put 2-3" of pure ice on the highways of Missouri and Tennessee, which made travel near impossible for Missourians. I know bunches of people that had to sell their tickets for just that reason. And there was no chance we couldve competed with auburn fans anyway. Especially you guys dickriding your wins over Georgia and Bama. Youre a chump.

Would you rather play Ole Miss or Ga Southern?

And when your SEC team plays a mid major or even a smaller D1 school the school PAYS that school to come in and take that beating as a glorified tune up

I'd rather play an SEC team whether it is Vandy or UGA/USCe/UF from the East

Well... you guys schedule Georgia Southern.

Only an idiot looks at a 12 game schedule and dwells on the 12th best team.

Who cares who the 2 patsies are? They are never going away.
Focus on making 2 decent OOC games per year. It's not rocket science. UGA has been doing it for over a decade.

That's not the proper question. It should be: would you rather play Ole Miss or Clemson (or FSU, ND, etc.)? We're going to play 2 chumps regardless because we need home games.

I choose Clemson.

I wanted 9 too but whatever. I'm also sick and fricking tired of seeing rent a wins in BDS. Maybe Saban will follow through on all his talk of a tougher schedule and upgrade ours without the SEC.

I'd easily trade Fla Atlantic or WCU on next years sched for any East team

You can call that focusing on the 12rth best team all the hell you want

You telling me you wouldn't do the same to add a West team in place of Troy or Charleston Southern?

I smell bullshite

I agree that's why I love adding Southern Miss even if they are terrible we have a history and I'd like to see ND added as an opening game at some point

Every team in the conference will always have two cupcake home games. That's not changing and never was, even with the 9 game schedule. This just lets UGA and others with OOC rivals have the freedom to schedule other OOC games with big-name opponents.

UGA, USCe, etc. already play 10 major conference games on a regular basis. No one needs the conference's help to do that.

UGA plays GT every year.
We've also scheduled 4 games with Clemson, 2 with Oklahoma State, 2 with Boise, 2 with Colorado, and 2 with Arizona State (away games with all of them except the blue smurfs).

The only bullshite you smell is coming from your own britches.
We have no problems with how we schedule and how we will continue to schedule.
