I just switched from AT&T Uverse (18mbps, U200 Channel) for $170 a month to Comcast Infinity (57mbps, will upgrade to TV package during football season) for $59.

I just wanted y'all to make sure you're checking your competitors in your area. The cable companies have gotten so much better at improving their internet speeds. I'm banking on Comcast to come through with SEC Network before kick off too.

If you want to test your internet speed click here.

I'm click in at 57.02mbps Download and 11.61mbps Upload

It's very important if you want consistency.

There is a big difference with 2 iPhones, 2 computers, Xbox (Netflix, HBOGo, Game Streaming) connected devices on at once and any friends that come over and use your wi-fi when comparing 10mbps to 50mbps.

We haven't even talked about wi-fi connected printers, appliances, tv's, sound systems etc.

FYI - Games send text data to the online server, if you strip out the chat audio, it's like 30k/sec.

I have more computers than I can count and wifi connected everything, yet still never once thought it needed more than 15. Now when it comes time to do bad stuff, then sure I would take it, especially if it were cheaper.

Gaming doesn't take a lot, but so many people have so many devices these days and do so many things.

I have a PS4 and buy my games digitally now, so having 20GB+ downloads is much more okay with 50Mbps speeds. Not to mention the 1080p YouTube videos, Netflix and Hulu streaming which only use 2-4Mbps but still, having 2-3 laptops, gaming console and pc, tablet, 2 smartphones, etc.

As long as you're not paying out the arse, it's no big deal, I think Comcast Xfinity 50Mbps is $45 the first year. Hell I paid $35 for 15Mbps for Suddenlink and my parents still do. Turrible.

I'm getting 28.6, I don't consider my internet to be all that great or fast. It lags when I connect all my devices and i'm using them all or if someone else is here it's noticeably slower.
