It was over ten years ago, but I saw a black bear, actually atleast two, in hawkinsville, right next to their high school. I wonder if they live in FL?

The Ocmulgee River Corridor is full of black bear. Oaky Woods isn't far from Hawkinsville. The middle ga bear population seems to be flourishing today.

I got ran off of Redlands WMA by two black bear in 2012. Farmington area, on the Appalachee.
Black Bear are everywhere, many in Florida too.
Cartoons tell us bears are only in mountains, it's simply not true.

Well, there are bears in the mountains. My folks have one that likes to climb the tree next to their back deck to get to their bird feeder - sometimes he just says, frick it, and walks on to the deck looking for the trash can

They are all over the Florida panhandle and the middle of Florida even south of Ocala.

I have trail cams pics of black bears in Hancock and Baldwin Counties. I had three that frequented my deer feeder in Houston County. I walked up on one in the dark during bow season and come close to fudging my huggies.
