"Fayetteville Flyer founders launch new local real estate company"
"What does that mean for the Flyer?"
"Good things, we hope. Todd and I will continue to write the same stories you’ve come to expect through the years, while continuing to seek the most relevant local sponsors to help support the creation of that content.
We’ll also help Flyer Homes clients to promote their listings using our skills as photographers, web designers, and social media marketers."
I really like their stories yet I do not want them mixing their promoting of self-interest on FayettevilleFlyer's website. I want the owner's to focus solely on FayettevilleFlyer.com This avenue of advertisement for my company is shot. I liked their "cool" younger vibe.
Well shite, it makes sense why they didn't return my phone calls to feature my projects, ha ha. They should've just started the real estate company, called it something completely different, and advertised for free on FayettevilleFlyer.com with creative marketing driving interest over to WhateverRealEstateNWA.com
From a marketing standpoint, I disagree with their decisions but I do wish them luck. I do wonder how the local real-estate companies who advertise feel about this move? I'm more upset about possibly being fed home sales rather than pure driven investment in current affairs of NWA. Maybe I'm wrong.
Does anyone on here advertise with them or thoughts about their future? Hawgeye (Dry Cleaning) etc..

Never thought about them honestly.
My two cents....There new move doesn't make much sense. It's 2014, quality realtors have their own site where they take their pics and upload already. If I have a $500k home, why would I put it on Flyer Homes instead of a reputable realtor site? Also, people still use this free site called Craigslist.
Doesn't make much sense to me.

Agreed, its strange and doesn't make much sense. I will say it may wind up being a minor part of their site. I think they have a decent platform for integrating advertising into their news coverage.
I know that they definitely reach that 20-something demographic, because none of those age bracket are subscribing to news online or in print. And its nice to get some local coverage that isn't the lame crap from the local news stations. In fact, the Flyer has covered news items that wound up on KNWA two to three days later. I think Fayetteville is a place where people are uniquely plugged in to local news and city govt activities, so they will appeal to a broader demographic due to that reality.
I like the site a lot.

Their trust funds must be dwindling. They've never been strong in the advertising game. NWA Media has an army of sales reps and 5 daily papers, 9 weeklies, special publications out the Wazoo, and a host of online marketing platforms and solutions from building sites to SEO, SEM, and basically everything on mobile you could ask for.
The new president at NWA Media is pushing online like a mofo. The Sunday paper in NWA is bigger than Houston's and the inserts are stupid stacked. There's still a lot of interest in our ever expanding corner of backwater hillbilly land.
