Of course liberal pussies are crying foul, but this is an awesome Second Amendment win for our state...while other states are banning guns altogether, we have gone the other direction, lifting the strict requirements permit holders had to abide by...

While I do not want the government tracking me, I do want to keep track of the crazies. But overall awesome law especially the school part.

Just so I understand this. This makes it possible for anyone with a license to carry guns...pretty much anywhere (bars, airports, school, etc..)?

Guns and bars. That should be an interesting combination.

the guns and bars thing is not necessarily what you think...and this will change how owners of "bar" establishments do business...they still have the right to tell you not to come in if you are packing...

what is good is that restuarants like Applebee's etc. were considered bars...and...the law still stands that you shoudl not be carrying while intoxicated...so it opens the door up for me to carry while i eat dinner with my family at a restaurant that serves alcohol and is considered a bar....before I wouldn't be able to...

I was curious about that. Besides if you're going to eat at applebees you probably should be carrying.

you jest...there is a reason for that...cause here in the dirty south, mfer's never know who else might be carrying...Colorado and Connecticut have some of the strictest laws on guns in the country..you see how well that has worked out for them....try to shoot up a theatre in south Georgia with some crazy arse red hair when my family is sitting beside me...mfer would be dead...and not going to the loony house instead...

The applebees in my town is a shithole and a magnet for thug arse wannabes. And that's putting it mildly. I avoid that place like the plague.

You know I'm messin' with ya. I am working on getting my CCP as well. I wouldn't carry it into a restaurant but I want to leave one in my truck. I also wanna buy guns 10 min less than it usually takes.

frick, I may go get it tomorrow. I keep saying I am going to and I am off. Why not?

Where do I get one in Gwinnett

Not anyone, Just permit holders and the establishment itself still has the ultimate say so

And on topic, got this letter today about the park by my house

quote:

Dear Parents

We wanted to reach out to you and give you some info regarding the individual that was at Fowler Park the last two days walking around with a knife and an exposed firearm in a holster on his hip.

We contacted the police and the Parks & Rec department. Unfortunately, there is no restriction on 'open carry' in Forsyth County. Furthermore, when questioned by Forsyth County Sheriff Office he did produce a Georgia permit. He is exercising his 2nd Amendment rights. These guys know the law very well and he was walking the line the entire time. IF he brandished the weapon, that is a chargeable offense.

Tonight, Wednesday April 23rd we have decided to cancel all training at Fowler Park only. We have reason to believe that this person may return in an effort to provoke confrontation with police. His plan is to use us through fear of an armed man to call the Sheriff and create a confrontation. The Sheriff has already investigated this particular individual and he has a license to carry a weapon so they are really at a disadvantage and fear a lawsuit for harassment.

Our primary goal is to ensure the safety of all our members, parents to players, and we are in the process of working with the county on additional patrols, hiring an off duty policeman as well as having a Park Ranger at Fowler. As of today we are not able to provide the off duty officer however we will plan on having one starting Thursday and over the weekend. We will keep the police officer at Fowler until we feel this issue has been resolved. We are waiting on a response from Parks & Red at this time to provide us with additional guidance on this sensitive issue and there may be further information regarding United FA training at Fowler.

Training at our other locations will go forward as planned. So sorry that on this beautiful day we have to cancel training however it’s for the safety of our players and their ability to focus on training that we make this very difficult decision to not train at Fowler.

I know NOTHING about gun laws so forgive my ignorance. But does this affect anything relating to "concealed" carry? I guess what I'm asking is, are people now allowed to just walk down the street with a holster on their hip like the old west, or does it still have to be 'hidden' so to speak?
