"I don't think there's any support for (a 9-game SEC schedule)," Saban said. "I think there's a little more support for staying with an 8-game schedule and everybody playing a ninth opponent that's in the five major conferences. ... I'm for playing nine conference games and still playing another team in the major conferences ... It's important for the players to be able to play more teams in the SEC East on the other side, which we only get to play one now. I don't know if we stay with the 6-1-1 or the 6-0-2, I don't know."

8 games. 6-1-1. Status Quo. Yay.

I prefer the 6-0-2. I enjoy beating Kentucky every year, but I'd like the opportunity to visit other East team's stadiums.

Saban is the only coach brave enough to play tough schedules.

Saban talks a big game, but you always see a weak arse schedule.

We've had a marquee OOC game on the schedule for the past several years. If Tennessee would cease with the mediocrity maybe our schedule wouldn't be so bad

I think he said he is in favor of the nine-game schedule because it allows every player who plays four years to play against every team in the conference, which is a completely valid reason.

I actually agree with him on that. More SEC games = better for the season ticket holder.

Since Saban has been at ua, they have played :
Florida St
Clemson
Va tech x 2
Penn St, home and home
Michigan
West Virginia (scheduled after their bcs bowl)
Wisconsin, next year

Lsu is the only other team that has scheduled like this

He really does want 9 games and a strong OOC.... he just wants everyone else to do it too. He's not going to put his team at a disadvantage by playing a tough schedule while no one else is doing the same.

If AU would be more consistent the schedule wouldn't be so bad on paper.
