2) Wants to motivate Bama (Georgias not man enough to beat Bama)
3)Wants to come off as unbiased and this is a good way to start..

He had some pretty good commentary from their spring game. He had a slip up here and there when he would say we, but overall I think he did a good job.

I don't see how Auburn isn't the odds-on favorite to win the SEC by everyone. They return pretty much their entire team.
That's McElroy being smart, while avoiding being a "homer".
What other team do you look at this year and think "They have a serious shot at winning the SEC."
The only teams that come to mind for me are Auburn, Bama, LSU, and maybe Georgia - but LSU and Georgia are more "darkhorse" candidates at this point.

Guy had a wide open receiver (by 15 yards) in that Arizona Cardinals game, yet he still had to run about 10 seconds just to be in range of his puny-arse arm.

Guess that depends who we lose to and what the other teams' records are.
Because no one would be silly enough to read that as auburn losing its first game they play this year.

Is it possible that the answer is:
4) He actually believes the defending SEC Champion with lots of returning starters should be the favorite and he's not letting the fact that the defending SEC champ is "his" rival cloud his judgement?
Shite, I dislike you guys more than Bama (primarily b/c of circa 2000 - 2006) but I still think you guys should be the favorites to win the SEC going into the season.
