**************************************************
Today is Muster. We are all proud of our traditions and Muster is among the greatest so I'm sure a few threads will be started about it.

Remember that not everybody likes or understands our traditions so like every year we are going to get some shitty comments in those threads. RA those comments and explain calmly what Muster is about and why it's important and move on. It will be a long time before the next reinstatement thread and the offseason is a boring time to be banned.
**************************************************

quote:

Softly call the Muster,
Let comrade answer, “Here!”
Their spirits hover ‘round us
As if to bring us cheer!

Mark them ‘present’ in our hearts.
We’ll meet some other day
There is no death, but life etern
For our old friends such as they!

Here.

You can make a thread on the main rant, if you wish

Not that you needed my permission, of course

Aggie Muster is a time-honored tradition at Texas A&M University which celebrates the camaraderie of the school while remembering the lives of Aggies who have died, specifically those in the past year. Muster officially began on April 21, 1922 as a day for remembrance of fellow Aggies. Muster ceremonies today take place in approximately 320 locations globally. The largest muster ceremony occurs in Reed Arena, on the Texas A&M campus.[1] The "Roll Call for the Absent" commemorates Aggies, former and current students, who died that year. Aggies light candles, and friends and families of Aggies who died that year answer “here” when the name of their loved one is “called”.

In my words:

Every year on April 21st(San Jacinto Day) Aggies around the world come together to celebrate our friendship/bond through our school and to remember any of our classmates that have died since the last Muster. It can be a gathering as large as 12,000 on the main campus or as few as 2 guys in a FOB in Afghanistan. It's one of our oldest traditions and many would say our greatest.

Aggie Muster was even held at Corregidor during WW2 in 1942:

Thank you for asking.

I always look for words to express my feelings on April 21.
And I always fail.
Softly call the Muster, let comrade answer 'here.'

Unfortunately, I can't go as the local one is almost a 90 minute drive north...at 6pm. I'll be lucky to leave the office by 7 with an exercise coming up.

I vote T-Bird... if he does it, it wont get "aggy board"-ed as if someone else was to do it.
