I will say there are dozens upon dozens of posts saying if you swapped McCarron for any other QB in the league, that QB would be able to put up similar results. Now that McCarron is gone these same people are saying Alabama will lose 4 or 5 games this year.

Greg McElroy is superior to Peyton Manning!

I mean, its definitely possible (probable if someone on campus right now is the best option at QB) that they take a step back.

Even with a new OC, its still the same "system" on offense, and losing a player who has started as many games as AJ has would hurt anyone.

We will know alot about how good AJ really was after next year.

McCarron would have won the Heisman in the 1990s. (Compare his 2012 and 2013 stats with Gino Torretta's 1992 stats.)

But, his lack of athleticism makes him seem obsolete in today's day and age. If he's to survive in the NFL, he's gonna need the league's most elite pass protecting OL to succeed.

I think most Bama fans are hoping he goes to a solid team and gets to sit behind someone like Brady, Brees, etc. for a few years before trying to take the reigns.

Lets hope we have the kind of long years we had the 3 years before he got there, with 2 different starters. What was our record for those years, oh yeah it was 36-5. Wishful thinking from some opposing fans out there.
