Is Corliss getting a pass for devastating UCA's basketball program?

Read this week where the new coach said APR be damned and cut 11 guys off the roster, 3 graduated, and he only kept 1. He brought in 9 signees, a couple from the JUCO squad he was coaching before taking the UCA gig.
Corliss bounced right before the school year started to go back to the Kings. August is a hard time to find a good basketball coach.
None of the stories I saw mentioned how bad Corliss must have built that team for UCA to feel the best way would be blasting it to the foundation and starting completely over. Also only 2 of the 11 have found new schools to play at. So there could be 8-9 guys that just stop attending college all together and that will decimate their APR, It's an interesting approach in today's climate. Win now, move on, let the school deal with the fallout in 3 years.

Corliss didn't win at UCA.
UCA wasn't exactly winning before him either.
UCA has a share in the blame in hiring a guy no where near ready to take over a college program.

From the sound of it, they would have been ineligible for the postseason next year even if they didn't cut all of their players. Corliss obviously wasn't ready to be a head coach yet, but it's not like the program was great before he got there either
Their two best players this past year were seniors anyway so they'll be terrible for a while

Makes the Hogville chatter about how he was "being groomed" for our job even more ridiculous in hindsight than it was at the time.
