We have, we know. It's fun when you win. We have taken a pounding on the SEC Rant as far as I can remember. From Gene Chizik, to Gus Malzahn, to Cam Newton, to Nick Fairley, to win less in the SEC, to Nick Marshall, to arrests, and so forth... We have taken that pounding, all in good fun, and wanted to come back with a vengence. However, that's not what this thread it about.

Auburn has to win now. For me, it's National Championship or bust for 2014. After the great rise from the 2012 to 2013 season, after going win less in the SEC to SEC Champions, it was great. However, this year is different. There is no need to tame our expectations for the 2014 season. We lose a ton after this year, of experience and NFL Draft talent alike. And our team will be completely different in 2015. Auburn will likely lose all of the players listed below after this season:

Nick Marshall
Cam Artis-Payne
Corey Grant
*Duke Williams
*Sammie Coates
Quan Bray
CJ Uzomah
Brandon Fulse
Reese Dismukes
Chad Slade
*Avery Young
Angelo Blackson
Gabe Wright
Ben Bradley
LaDarius Owens
Jeff Whitaker
John Mincy
Brandon King
Jermaine Whitehead
Trovon Reed
Robenson Therezie

A * designates a "maybe"...

Good point.

Solid replacement for Sammie Coates and Duke Williams, IMO.

LSU replaced too much and will not be able to score with Auburn (game is also at home for Auburn), South Carolina never beats Auburn (but yes, they are very talented), and Alabama looked bad today (but I label it as a toss-up). Honestly, I don't like the games against Georgia or Mississippi State.

Yea, I but I see what you were getting at. I don't think he would be leaving if he weren't a Senior this year. I put a "*" around the redshirt sophomores and juniors on the list that I feel will go pro.

Sorry, I don't see how any bama fan can be optimistic after that first half shite show I saw today. I am sure Coker will be an upgrade, but your OL still has problems. You have a solid running and a solid D. That's not enough in this conference any more.

It's going to be much harder this year than last year. You won several games last year in the final minutes and those were at home. Your road schedule is tough. I can't help but think of falcons who went 13-3 two years ago, but about 8 of those wins were by one score. The next year, those one score games didn't go their way and their record was right the opposite (not saying this will happen to auburn). Just saying it's hard to get magic like that in back to back years and improve on it.

Au scored 21 vs, LSU in 2008
10 in 2009
24 in 2010
10 in 2010
10 in 2012
21 in 2013

So, I wouldn't bet on it.

I would argue it will be easier. Alabama won't be as good, LSU won't be as good, Texas A&M won't be as good, Ole Miss will upgrade a little bit, South Carolina will downgrade a small bit, Mississippi State will be dangerous, Arkansas will still suck, and Georgia will be about the same. The schedule may be tougher from a home/away standpoint, but the teams won't, IMO.

We did the same in 2010. Gus Malzahn coached teams know how to win.

I'm not worried. We will be really good as always. The front 7 on defense is nasty.
