Saban Sends Two Tailbacks To Study

But Drake and Tenpenny were not at practice Thursday. Drake is a 6-1, 202-pound junior; Tenpenny a 6-0, 218-pound sophomore; and Jones a 5-9, 212-pound redshirt freshman.

Alabama Coach Nick Saban was asked for “an update” on the status of Drake and Tenpenny.

“There is no update,” Saban said. “They didn't do what they were supposed to do in school this week so I sent them to the study table for four hours and they didn't come to practice. If they don't stay over there for four hours, they probably won't play in the spring game. There's no update, just the fact.

“I'd rather do it now than during the season.

“You know, all these players need to learn that they have a responsibility and an obligation to do the right thing for themselves. We're not asking one player here to do anything that's not going to benefit him. That's really what we're trying to do. And our guys getting an education and doing what they're supposed to do in school is a top priority. And we have a systematic approach to how they need to do it. They understand it, and when they don't do those things, then ultimately I don't think we should let them participate.”

Thanks for the update. I really don't care if they don't play. You'd think those two would do anything and everything they're asked of. If I was in those shoes I would stay and study for 6 hours.

Indeed it is bro. Those two not playing means we get to see more of Henry.

I agree...I think the combo of Henry and Drake is way better than Yeldon/Henry.
