Some notes per JGT

-Expects last full time hire by the end of the week
-Bielein from smaller West Virginia school is the favorite.
-Son of Michigan HC

-Will not contest Show Cause after all

-Pearl goes out of town when recruits are in to make sure NCAA is happy

-CBP & CTJ have been amazed how willing everyone at AU is to help them
-Gus volunteers to talk to recruits to relay CBPs message
-that really stood out to Cinnamon Powers

-Pearl has no issues with football's great sucess
-believes his style is a good match for the football program
-JGT believed Lebo and Barbee were annoyed by football as many basketball coaches are

-Pearl will take a football road trip this season & tailgate w/ the AU peeps

-Workouts are physically draining
-Constant motion
-Some players were ready for it (Dean, KT, Wade)
-Some not so much (Benas, Delph, Canada)

Hmm. That impresses me.

Why would he?

That's awesome.

Don't really know the first two but doesn't surprise me from the looks of Canada.

Many basketball coaches do. For example, Godfried absolutely hated Saban's success at Bama.

Why though? Doesn't make sense.

Jealousy and feeling basketball is the red headed stepchild to football syndrome.

Malzahn is the perfect coach for Bruce Pearl IMO. Head is still on his shoulders & I feel like he understands the bottom line is they can work to each other's benefit.

Semi OT but Mamadou Ndiaye has been hired as an assistant coach at GT. He has been on staff with Coach Ellis at Coastal Carolina and got an interview with Pearl for a spot on our staff.

I am very happy for him. Mamadou was always one of my favorites and he was always a gentleman off the court.

Nah, dual sport guys. How would recruiting basketball players affect football recruiting on contact limits and such? Just curious if anyone knows the specifics. I'm not really up on the recruiting rules.

Per AUR

-CBP has said publicly he will win with Under Armour
-Privately CBP has told UA they need to prove their worth and commitment to basketball and AU basketball
-Hoke believes UA is making progress there but CBP has put them on notice on where the relationship is with UA and AU basketball

Auburn will play an OOC game @Colorado next year and there is also a strong possibility that we are part of ESPN's 24 hours of basketball to tip off the 14-15 season. Game would likely be on the road against a yet to be determined opponent.

To add to this

-AU's game a part of the ESPN's 24 hours tip off special will be versus a top 25 team and is expected to be on the SEC Network
-wants 1 top 25 game at home this year but knows it will be tough to get quality teams to come to AU to AU in the first year

Another note from this morning. The games for the SEC-Big 12 challenge will be announced today and Auburn may be chosen to play in it.

From a very good source we are also trying to finalize a home and home with Gonzaga with us playing on the road and we are most likely going to play in the Las Vegas Classic.

Night and day how much different our OOC schedule will be this year as opposed to last. If everything works out this is what we currently are looking at.

Nov 14th home opener opponent TBD
Dec 3 @Texas Tech
@Clemson date TBD
@Colorado date TBD
@Gonzaga date TBD

Las Vegas Classic is a 4 game tourney with the 1st 2 games most likely played @home and the final 2 games played in Vegas. Last year it was played from Dec. 16-23
