Well, once again, last week's Top 3 (SC, Vandy, UK) in the PR lost their conference series. Is it time to shake things up at the top? What does the Rant think?

If you want to contribute to this week's Baseball Power Rankings, submit your 1-14 ranking of the SEC teams here or email it to me (email is in my profile). We will randomly pick 2 rankings out of all the reasonable ones submitted. Voting closes at the end of Monday, and the winners will be announced in the Baseball Power Rankings thread on Tuesday.

Here are some suggestions that we give to the regular voters:
quote:

We aren't going to tie your hands with a "formula" but we encourage you to use some of the following: the past week's results, team momentum/trend, conference record, rankings (RPI, SOS, CBN, Coaches, NPI, etc), team stats, OOC record, overall record, eye-test. We trust that you're able to form your own combo of these elements without our guidance, but we would like you to emphasize what a team has most recently accomplished.

Week 4 PR (last week's):
1) South Carolina
2) Vanderbilt
3) Kentucky
4) Alabama
5) Ole Miss
6) LSU
7) Florida
8) Mississippi State
9) Tennessee
10) Arkansas
11) Auburn
12) Georgia
13) Texas A&M
14) Missouri

Yep, Alabama's schedule is backloaded so I still feel like there is a lot of uncertainty about how good they are even this late into the season. The RPI should go up, but the record is probably going to get worse.

Finish with these five series (9 road / 6 home):

@UT
@SC
UF
@LSU
MSU

.500 ball during those series wouldn't be a bad result.

To be fair, the title says "week 5" then you have a poll within the OP. MOST of us can read the post and see that that poll is week 4, but some people might jump to the conclusion that the poll in the first post is week 5's, due to the title.

In the future, how bout include a link in the OP directing people to the previous week? No fuss, no muss.

Nah, I say leave it as is. Can be used as an SECRant IQ test of sorts.

Formula: SEC record to overall record to last weekend record to away record

1) Bama
2) Ole Miss
3) Florida
4) LSU
5) South Carolina
6) Georgia
7) Vandy
8) Kentucky
9) A&M
10) Miss State
11) Arkansas
12) Tennessee
13) Auburn
14) Mizzou

If I had to break formula, I would move State higher, A&M and UGA lower. There isnt one single bad team in this league. Honestly I think Auburn and Mizzou could beat any team in a 3 game series if the ball rolled just right. Ole Miss probably the hottest team right now.
