Difference of opinion with my GF.Mayo and salad dressings have to be refrigerated, but mustard and ketchup don't,and I don't like putting cold stuff on my hot burgers or fries, if I can help it.
She is always putting them in the fridge.
What does everyone else say?

Ketchup is definitely better refrigerated. It's not even a debate.

They don't need it, but I figure if they're in there they'll last a big longer than if they were sitting out.
Restaurants can probably get away with it because the lifespan of their ketchup and mustard is probably a tenth of mine. I just don't want some weird shite growing in a opaque mustard bottle and not knowing until it gets clogged with green shite while I try to put some on my hot dog.
Bread is always in the fridge.

I use mustard up pretty fast, a lot more than I use ketchup. I agree about bread in the fridge.

Mayo and salad dressings have to be refrigerated
Why? They aren't in grocery stores.
FWIW I like all my condiments refrigerated.

Technically speaking, you don’t have to store opened bottles of ketchup and mustard in the refrigerator.
But it’s a good idea all the same, since you’ll get a lot more mileage out of them if you do, as condiment manufacturers like French's point out.
Due to their high acid content, both mustard and ketchup will keep fine for about a month in the pantry. But after that, their flavor, appearance and texture will begin to break down and deteriorate much more quickly at normal room temperatures than in the cooler 40° F storage conditions of the refrigerator.
An opened bottle of ketchup should stay at peak quality for about 6 months in the fridge; mustard for at least a year. And both will remain safe to consume for much longer than that, as long as they've been continuously refrigerated.

I don't mind either way. I usually end up putting ketchup and mustard in the fridge. Mayo is nasty so i never have any.
Also wtf is up with putting bread in the fridge?

Bread seems to stay fresher, longer in the fridge.

but then its cold and i feel like it would get a bit soggy at that point. my bread seems to stay fresh until its eat by date by just keeping it on my counter.

I don't use regular bread very fast, not a big sandwich guy,but I like to keep it for grilled cheese or french toast.
Hamburger buns, hot dog buns,etc.. I will use those pretty fast.

I had a friend in high school who did this and it made no sense to me at the time

I keep my bread in the fridge. Keeps it fresh for quite a while. If I want a hot sandwich I'm going to toast it regardless soo..

Note: If you plan on toasting your bread when you use it, refrigerating it is probably fine. Heating the bread above 140F actually reverses much of the staling.
Well there ya go

You don't have to refrigerate some mayo either
