So the next logical question is: if he takes 2014-15 school year off and goes into counciling and comes out a better young man does MU give him his scholarship back??

I'm guessing he goes and plays somewhere lower level and gets in the draft, especially after all the money talk that has come out in the reports.
He's going for the paycheck ASAP.

It always sucks, but the team comes first. I hope he learns and makes use of that talent.

Honey Badger says no.

I was really surprised to see most everyone vote to keep him.
After reading that article I was convinced that he was going to be axed. Seems like that's the case.

This was a must do by Mizzou.
With everything this university is under fire for, this was almost a no brainer. DGB had to go.
The university is better for this decision, proud of the people that pulled the trigger.
This team isn't built to accommodate one guy anyway, there was so much pressure to get DGB the ball, glad this can go back to being a team where everyone is one the same level.

Like I said, frick him.
I just didn't see that they could cut him without more info. Semo brought up the point that the AD probably asked the others present when they did their own investigation. I didn't think of that possibility.

They likely know more than we do.
And what you called 'media reports' earlier, are mostly police reports that the media has reported. That's a big difference.
Guy's already been arrested this offseason, now breaks in an apartment and pushes girl down the stairs. No way he stays, especially with the current fire the athletic department is under.

Will this help secure Ofodile?

I always just make the assumption that the police reports aren't readily available to the media/blogosphere. I'm likely/obviously wrong.
quote:100% agree. I just didn't have a full grasp of where the media info was coming from. It's obvious the people in charge have significantly more info than my dumb arse sitting here in the desert.

I wonder if they proactively cut DGB to head off any further investigation into the "coaches called to lean on / threaten me" allegations that one of the women sent in a text message. Full CYA mode.

Watch this mess up recruiting. Don't get too excited over those early committments yet, this school will screw this up and the program will go in the shitter. Its Mizzou, its always worst case scenario.

Maybe I've got gold colored glasses on, but I just don't see that happening at Mizzou. Coaches telling the girlfriend this is a serious situation could be construed as a cover up, but nobody knows who initiated the contact between the staff and the girlfriend.
As I said before, I don't see it happening here. I sure as shite hope there wasn't any sort of real effort to cover this up spearheaded by anyone within the program. That would piss me off more than anything.
Violence is not marijuana, it's a serious issue and it needs to be handled correctly regardless of how good someone is at athletics.

I'm cooling down a bit but seriously Mike Alden has to go, he talks all this jazz about running a clean program yet this schools been in the papers about 15 times in 9 months? Hate that guy.
