All-Time High from SEC in Major League Baseball

The Southeastern Conference has long been tapped as a resource for the major leagues, dating back as far as the 1800’s. According to the records of each of the league’s current institutions, 420 former players have spent time in the majors through the end of the 2013 season.

On opening day of the 2014 season, an all-time high 67 former SEC players were listed on MLB opening day 25-man rosters. Florida led the league with eight, while Vanderbilt had seven. Ole Miss and Arkansas had six each.
