The first two weed incidents were overblown, although the second one is a legitimate red flag.

I always thought he was dumb, but in a 'can't understand the playbook' kind of way. He didn't seem this type of dumb, he always seemed like a soft soul, which I thought reflected in some of his playing (especially freshman year).

After thinking about it he needs to go, no doubt about it.

And I think Mizzou fans should be demanding that he's gone.

Mizzou can't have this 'family-good guy' brand and behave the opposite. This is a golden opportunity to act in accordance with the brand Mizzou projects.

This was his 3rd strike, and it was a significant one. He pushed a girl down stairs, among other crazinesses.

I vote for him to be gone.

But, twist..

Mizzou's staff took DGB in like a parent.

Do you give up on your kid, do you throw him the streets when he needs you most?

What if you work with him, get him drafted and hope he figures it out?

But that's not fair to the others who do the right things and sit on the bench, or who have been removed from the team and lost their dreams for less offensive actions than DGB has committed.

The contradictions.. what a conundrum.

The weed incidents dont even move the radar for me so I dont consider them "strikes".

This latest incident is concerning though. Im not sure Im ready to call for him tho be kicked off the team.

They do show an inability to understand his public visibility. And they show a lack of respect for the rules, even if it's just the rules of the coach.

Physical altercation with a chick? That shows a need to get some sense beat into you.

Ah yea, the old "slippery slope" logical fallacy.

An oldie but goodie.

Based on what is known, and we do know some facts, if it were up to me, he'd be gone. I think to do otherwise makes one question all of the others that have been booted, whether it's Dalton or Boozer or whoever. It creates a double standard if the player is important enough. Refusing to not file charges is meaningless. All it means is the victims, for whatever reason, chose to not want charges brought and the DA followed suit.

Now if GP decides to keep him on the team, it is what it is and I will continue to root for the Tigers. I won't root for DGB as an individual but only so far as it helps the team.

Each incident and person is different. I had an unfaithful young lady want to keep my stuff I had at her place when she dumped me. Possession is 9/10ths of the law she told me. So instead of taking my stuff I broke my stuff. Who won? Sure was not me!! I was 23 yrs old.

Young people do stupid irrational things. If her roommate got thrown down some stairs that is horrible. But if DGB did not go over to the roommate pick her up and throw her down the stairs then wtf was a little young lady (compared to him) getting in his way ?!?! She too was doing something stupid and irrational.

Let's let the coaching staff figure this one out. It is only a team distraction because of the press and people like us getting on chat rooms.

This team is very mature. If they can keep Michael Sam's secret secret then they can handle this. Very Mature team

Slippery slopes are only fallacies if you can't demonstrate a logical path from A to B.

Saying he is inevitably going to rape a woman?

Come on.

DGB is voluntarily (probably at the urging of his adopted father) entering counseling. Let us no forget where this kid came from. I don't give two fricks he smoked weed. This is the first concerning incident he has made. Athletes have been forgiven for way less. If Mizzou gives up on him now there is no telling where he could end up. Whether or not he plays this year, I hope Mizzou stands by him to get him on the right track.

I can completely understand this, I won't even call weed a drug in the sense that we classify things as drugs.

But the second one was a red flag, and a strike in my book considering the circumstances.

I vote keep him. Let the counseling play itself out, he's on his last strike and if after professionals have had a chance to try to help him get it together and he still acts the fool then chuck him. Don't have to legally do a TRO but a condition of his non expulsion should be he can't go near the alleged victim and if he does go near deliberately he is gone.

It sucks, but it's kidding yourself to say mizzou can have any certain moral high ground and compete in the sec. Nick Marshall wound up playing again at auburn. Mike Dixon played again at Memphis. These kids are going to play somewhere for somebody and until the morality of college sports in general is such that they can't play anywhere, then it's not mizzous job to be a lone beacon of higher moral standards. Vandy tried that approach for years in the sec and result was it was almost no point to field their athletic program.

I understand that and 49% of me, and sometimes 51% of me thinks Mizzou shouldn't give up on him for this reason.

But what about guys like Dalton, or whoever else has been kicked of the team for less offensive actions.

What about a guy like Dixon who was a manipulative creep, but not a rapist who got kicked out of school.

Honey Badger seems to be doing fine, and if I remember his issues were always weed related.. he didn't move onto dragging girls by their throats, pushing them down stairs, or breaking into apartments.

I didn't continue reading the other thread when it was announced the charges weren't going to be filed so I'm not privy to any of the new stuff that has come out and may or may not be confirmed.

That being said, bringing up the Mizzou family thing is important. I think I agree with this statement more than the others. I'll reserve my right to change my mind as I catch up with the other thread.

Family is tough on family, but you don't cut family off because they frick up doing something unrelated to the family. Had this happened in the middle of the season I may think a little bit differently since he'd be messing with the family at that point.

I'll stop saying family now.

I'll just say if that girl would exercise her legal rights and press charges, we wouldn't have to have this vote

I don't remember the whole Dixon thing, were charges pressed, and was he found guilty?

Or was he kicked out of school for being a dickhead to girls?
