It's not necessarily an "either/or" deal.
Other explanations exist.

I know in my time at Auburn, it was much easier to get cocaine in Ttown than Auburn...unfortunately

In my experience hard drugs were more accepted and available in TTown than the majority of other college towns I visited.
Of course I could have simply been hanging with the wrong crowd.

I went to a party at AU (in the late 80s) and the coke flowed like water in a stream. Lots of hoes that trip too. Stayed in Bham where there were even more hoes.
But that trip (and seeing myself in blue and orange for a weekend) almost made me an Auburn man . . . almost.

I found that drugs were at every campus. SEC, B1G, + the MAC.
I know I was hanging with the wrong crowd though.

I can honestly say I never saw cocaine in my 4.5 years at Alabama and I was a member of an old row fraternity. I saw plenty of marijuana and a few pills but that was it. It was definitely attainable if you were looking for it but it wasn't like walking around Tony Montana's mansion in Scarface with piles of drugs all over the place like some people like to believe.

We can cross SAE off the list of possible frats you were in

But that's what the ITAT and NtY crowd wants you to believe.

Every time I went to a party in bama when I was undergrad the cocaine was flowing. Im not used to that so I always felt a little uncomfortable but I usually just drank another beer and said oh well.
