@bobcarskadon: Mississippi State and Adidas have reached a new agreement, Scott Stricklin announces. Deal runs through 2020, I'm told.

Obviously, I'm in the minority, but I like adidas.

I've liked most of their stuff for us. I only really had a problem with the stupid arse bulldog head on our helmets and the faux-stros jerseys we have for baseball.
I thought the golden helmets for the egg bowl last year were baller as hell

@bobcarskadon: The previous deal with Adidas was gear only, while the new deal is a combination of gear and cash. Significant amount of both.
quote:
The deal is for seven years and runs through 2020, with 2014 serving as the first year of the agreement. The contract is worth $17.5 million over the course of the seven years, including cash and gear. Adidas and MSU’s previous deal signed in 2009 was worth $3 million over five years and was gear and equipment only.
Year one of the new deal actually replaces the final year of the 2009 agreement, raising the yearly worth of the contract from $600,000 to $2.5 million annually.

I just saw the old deal compared to the new deal. Damn, we were getting screwed. Maybe Bryne wasn't so invincible after all.

Yeah, we're getting nearly 2 million more per year under the new contract.

I still think Adidas' products (aka shirts and shite) are poor products. Every shirt I've bought of theirs over the past year I can't hardly wear because they get holes in them. One little nick and the thread starts coming undone and starts a run in it like pantyhose. Maybe I'm just dasteing too hard in my MSU threads?

They're probably not made to withstand a good, drunken wrastlin' match with Bundy before the game at the #SoBros tent.

There's probably a pretty strong link between wearing MSU duds and gettin frickin throwed

Exactly. Cutter/Buck makes a good shirt, but my friend was blackout in Baton Rouge, got "hit" and woke up in the ditch with a hole in his shirt. It's something that should be somewhat expected given the nature of the activities in the shirt.
eta: taxman, req, and bundy know that friend I'm talking about. midway's finest.

He called me screaming "Call 9-1-1, I've been hit." He had a knot on his head and a hole in his shirt, but he's still not sure if he actually got hit or he passed out and hit is head on the concrete.

Ole Miss posters, do any of y'all know what your current deal is with Nike? Would like to know to see how it stacks up with this new Adidas deal.
